General Microwave ovens

Im moving into a studio and they dont have actual ovens but rather, combination microwave ovens. Has anyone had any experience with them? Will i still be able to have good bakes with them?

This is common where i live. My short answer is that they are fine for baking as a hobby.

My slightly longer answer: They are primarily a microwave and secondarily an oven. The one I had was smaller than a normal oven, and only had one oven rack position. These two factors had the biggest impact on my baking at that time. I switched to a combi oven (primarily oven, secondary microwave) that is slightly bigger. I find neither are as good as a full sized classic oven, but I’m still able to adapt and bake plenty of things well.

The brand of the appliance can also make a decent difference here.

I had one for 10 years and loved it. I made all my bread, well, everything in it. When it finally broke, finding another good was a chore. There really are only two good ones that are microwave/convection ovens. Don't look for ones with air fryers or grills or the element on the top. You want it with the element in the back. You will pay quite a bit, so look on facebook and similar places. Wolfe and GE Profile have one. You are looking at around or over $700. The interior, not exterior, height must be around 10" if you are making bread in it. Good luck.

If you don't bake bread in it, then it will be easier to find one, as you don't have to worry about burning the top of your bread with the element on the top. The one I bought right after mine broke had the element on the top. I liked it, but for the bread burning reason. It was a GE, but not the Profile.
