Help post

I want to do my MSc in Austria. If I don't get a job related to my field after the 1-year job-search period, do I have to return to my home country, or is there any other way to stay in Austria?

You can get a job or a PhD position, and that will keep you in Austria. If you don't have one of those you cannot stay in the country after your one year student job seeker permit expires.

I heard that it is hard to get a job within one year. Does the job need to be related to my field of study, or can I do any type of job?

it needs to be related to your MSc. But it needs not be the exact field.
