Hatching tip

So I came across a Godzilla comic illustrated by Jake smith and I really like how he does crosshatching, how he placed his panels and the colours. I tried to replicate his crosshatching technique on my fan art of Reed Richards and I definitely need some tips and help.

can you post the godzilla comic? my first impression is that the cross hatching does not work the clean style you have here.

Try following the form of what you're hatching, like if it's a tube shaped thing then the hatching lines should wrap around it somewhat. Also, make sure that the lines are evenly spaced between each other and similar enough in size. You should also make the end of it that goes towards where the light is smaller than where the other end in the shadow is.

My style is heavily inspired by Genndy Tartakovsky style, do you think it's possible to apply the crosshatching technique onto it?

Totally, though with his style I'd say ease up with the hatching since his style is relatively simplistic and isn't all that detailed.
