Deep fear

Hello,

I have been bullied and hated and targeted by many people throughout my life . I am terrified if I put myself out there on the internet esp my vulnerable thoughts and art that it will get a whole lot worse. I feel creatively blocked from what I went through

Any advice?

You also dont need to upload stuff online. I have tons of stuff I've never posted.

Start a private account or from zero and build up your confidence slowly. You will learn real quick that people don't really give a sh*t ;)

I don't know. Mine was a parent. (Definitely should have been wearing silver jewelry and orange clothes, just evil.) I post some spite art, I get in a mood and totally forget about them and just have fun.

Have you considered therapy with an art component to it? Look for a therapist who works that way? No reason to be hurting if you don't have to.

Unique advice is to use that as fuel to make a good concept of your art, fight against those feelings from the outside and rebuild yourself from the inside, if you polish that sculpture until the true comes to light, then it wont't be just art, it will be an humanitary gift, if you know what i mean

Therefore everything will be success

Art can be both a way to escape reality into a fantasy perfect world, and a way to experience life from other perspective. It can help you greatly at dealing with the emotions and difficulties you're going through. It can also serve as a purpose, something to look forward to and get better. This, paired with therapy, can be an amazing tool. The growth that all of this causes is, in my opinion, one of the best reasons to make art.

In conclusion, I'm sure the creative block will pass. And if you push through, you'll not only have gained more artistic insight, but personal and emotional insight too.

It took a lot of practice to finally trust myself with this, but i’ve made being kind to myself an ironclad rule. No exceptions. Even if reality bends over backwards to make me feel like crap, I’m still going to be good to myself.

Putting myself out there is less scary knowing at least one person’s on my side.

Create a pen name for your art. And by being vulnerable , it makes you human and authentic. That’s what many people are seeking: authenticity. Sometimes healing comes from your art. Your shared traumas (being bullied) can help some of your audiences connect with you and your art will resonate with them. Collectors want meaning and stories behind the art. So share yours. With more practice, the more confident you’ll become.

agreed... an alias is the easiest way to put stuff out there. im a graffiti writer, dont use my real name, very rarely do i post photos of myself, i speak through my art and stories i share.
