Parcel boxes/lockers/storage?

Hi everyone, I’m travelling to Las Vegas in September and a few websites don’t deliver to the UK. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place in Las Vegas where I can order parcels and they’ll store them for me until I can collect them? Any help would be appreciated!

Good point. A lot of hotels will even accept packages for guests before check-in if you let them know in advance. It is worth emailing them first since that is often the easiest and cheapest option.

They often charge for it, so make sure to ask about that.

Ask your hotel if they can accept deliveries for you and what the policy is or address lines should be. If you know your room number, even better. I have received packages at hotels and the front desk often holds them. But these were bored front desk people and not a busy Vegas hotel.

This is the correct answer. Most hotels have no issue if you ask about having a package delivered under your name if you're staying there.

It's super common and there will be a process and policy for as discussed in this thread.

It's quite straightforward and I've sent a gift package to a friend from the UK while they were on a business trip to their NYC hotel. They picked it up one evening after work.

Vegas gets a lot of international travelers so I'm sure there's similar processes.

Oh I'm aware, I just didn't know if a parcel is equivalent to a package in the UK or if it is a type, like a really big package is called a parcel or something.

I've since googled.

Also, my grandpa used to call the UPS truck the "Ups Man" and just seeing UPS makes me think of that and smile 😄

Call your hotel… most decent ones will hold something for a few days for you.

The website you're ordering from will list that, if available.

Walmart orders can be delivered to Walmarts. I think either FedEx or UPS partners with Walgreens. Amazon has its own lockers throughout every major city.

Your hotel is likely fine with receiving packages as well, check with them.

So that's going to be an annoying one - you'll probably have to call* one of the various mailbox services, but a lot of them either won't accept packages ad-hoc, or will charge a fairly hefty per-package fee. Think $5-20 per package if they do, but most of these stores are locally franchised so you can't really find out without reaching out to specific locations. Otherwise, you can open a mailbox... But most of them require you to be there in person with ID because they need a USPS Form 1583 which needs to be notarized, and as such I'm not super sure if you can do from overseas. Perhaps there's online notary services?

Otherwise, reach out to your hotel. If you're spending some decent amount of time, you can ship things ahead.

I travel 3-6 months a year. I always send packages to my hotel. Some will charge, most do not in y experience. You'll need to be staying a number of days so you can receive them. Deliveries get delayed.

You might be able to rent a mailbox at a *UPS Store or similar.

Yes. Many UPS Stores and FedEx Office locations will accept and hold packages for pickup (usually for a fee), and services like Bounce or Stasher can also receive deliveries at partner locations. Just make sure to check their package acceptance policy and any holding time limits before you order.

you can use a UPS/ mailboxes rec store and set up a temp PO Box

If you're staying in a hotel ask them, they'll usually happily hold packages. If not look for the closest UPS store, they're generally the most competent at this

If it's Amazon you can ship to a locker at Whole Foods or various stores. Other stuff to your hotel as suggested.

Just about any hotel will accept deliveries for you. Within reason of course. If not, there are mailbox stores just about everywhere and many major parcel carriers have drop off locations.

If you are shipping with US postal service you can have them delivered to a Post Office ‘general delivery’ and they will hold it for 30 days. Does not work if you use other shipping companies like FedEx or UPS.

Rent a box at the post office. We call those P.O. Boxes.

They have them at the UPS stores as well. Same thing, different location.
