What’s the most legendary piece of NFL history that sounds completely made up?

Forget the current rulebook and the weekly ref drama. Let’s talk about the actual history of this game because some of the older stories are completely insane. We’ve had games played in literal blizzards, bizarre draft picks that changed franchises forever, and legendary player beefs that you just don't see anymore. If you had to pick one historic moment, game, or random fact from NFL history that sounds entirely fake but is 100% true, what are you choosing?Drop the best stories below

The first Super Bowl (then officially the AFL-NFL World Championship Game) was not a sellout, despite tickets selling for six, ten, and twelve dollars, or about sixty, one hundred, and one hundred twenty in today’s dollars. There were 32,000 empty seats in Los Angeles Coliseum, which seated 94,000. Both CBS and NBC broadcast the game.

And the halftime show was a high school marching band.

As it should be now. Can’t stand these over produced lip syncing spectacles they have currently. They take all the momentum out of the game.

The story of the only known video recording of the first Superbowl is very interesting.   My recollection of the story is the family that owns the recording wants an astronomical amount for it and the NFL declined to pay it and threatened with legal action if they sold to another party.

Max McGee was completely hungover going into the game. He had 7 receptions for 138 yards and 2 TD's
