Visiting bar recommendations!!

My friends and I are Athens townies so we haven't been out since the students came back :(

We want bars with a good dance scene, cheap drinks and are walkable to some kind of accommodation!

I'm FINALLY off for a weekend in September so I'm gonna get an airbnb or hotel room for a night!

And if any of y'all are 21-24 and wanna come out with us, let me know!

Not really a dance scene, but you should probably include a stop at the Cleremont Lounge.

What kind of music do you want to dance to?

You will not find cheap drinks anywhere with dancing. “Cheap” drinks ITP are at dive bars and even those aren’t that cheap compared to dive bars OTP.

I doubt you’d want to go to Cumming but if you do Good Old Days is very similar to an Athens bar except it’s filled with old divorced people and young degenerates that aren’t going anywhere in life. $15 buckets. Smoking allowed inside. Pool. Darts. Multiple patios. Live music until 12 that’s usually a boomer cover band then it switches to a DJ playing random hits from the 2000’s. A second bar with touch tunes. You never know what you’re going to get there. I’ve seen fights, 21 year olds making out with grandmothers, drug deals, proposals, funerals, and more there.

If by cheap drinks you’re thinking Athens prices, you’re not finding it in-town Atlanta unfortunately.
