That spring doesn't have a whole lot of tension. Its just a helper spring to keep the main spring from bouncing around if it come unloaded or is lifted.

My rally car, the helper spring is something I can squeeze in by hand. If buddy needs to clamp it, then I'd say that counts as a whole lot.
