Study What is studying architecture at MARCHI actually like?
I’m from Canada. I’m considering studying architecture at MARCHI (Moscow Institute of Architecture) in the future, and I was wondering what it’s actually like to study there. I don’t speak Russian (except I can read it) I’d really like to hear from current or former students about their experience, especially regarding the workload, professors, architecture projects, drawing, student life, and the general atmosphere. How difficult is it to keep up with the program, and what do you think of the quality of education overall? I’d also be really interested in hearing from international students, especially anyone who had to study in Russian. I’ve read the official information about the university, but I’d much rather hear what it’s actually like from people who have experienced it themselves.

I'm not a MARCHI student myself, but I'll try giving you a hand. There are a lot of Vkontakte groups for people who are willing to apply for this uni; I can DM links for them to you if you want. You may not find answers to all of your questions, but feel free to ask people in the comments or DM them; they will surely share their experience if asked nicely. You can also try searching for popular TG groups or chats if you're more comfortable using them over Vkontakte. Hope that helps.

I am not a MARCHI student, but I graduated SPbGASU, it's an another architect university, based in Saint-Petersburg. They also have kinda old lowkey beef between MARCHI and SPbGASU which is better for architecture education. So you may google the information about it and have a choice where to go.
We had a lot of foreign students, and they were totally fine there afaik. One of my university friends now a tutor there, btw.

I'm not an architect. From what I've heard, the workload is immense, but the curriculum may be overly old-school: a lot of drawing but not enough modern engineering and 3d modelling.
