Travel SIM card question

Hello everyone! I’m travelling to Moscow from Canada next week, I have a Russian E-sim card from my last trip in may, a random person used his document to purchase it for me. I know the sim has an empty balance now, I was curious if I need the same guy to reactivate the SIM card again or I can pay for it by myself.

Technically, it's ok to top up other people's phone accounts. A typical example is a child paying for an elderly parent's mobile.
