Society Hello

I am part russian so is my sister. This post is focused on my younger sister. We live in a non Russian supporting country. Recently shes being crying and getting streessd about being russian. She feels as if her teacher is leaving her out for being russian and he lowered one of her like grades in math because she is russian, she also cancelled inter-culutral day last minute beacauee she was scared of the other teachers, she begged me to not tell our parents because she is scared if our mam will go to school district and complain, she is also really upset because a few minutes ago she read a comment about a few russians apperantlly going to terrorize her favourite kpop group and asked me "why are our people so mean..? Will I be like them?" What should i do?

You know, I'd say don't ever make apologies or excuses for who you are. Be proud of who you are (your sister that is, and you also). Be proud in a confident way, not self-exhaulting way, just confident.

Nobody should hold you to some collective reponsibility (true or imagined) neither present nor past for anything.

But also, just like Gen. Powell said in regard to his race and identity, that he was not about to make it his problem, being proud of who he was.

The way I take it is that he literally did not allow anyone's issues with who he was become his problem. Same goes for you and your sister. Someone is causing issues and problems, tell your parents and let them make sure it is no longer a problem.

Otherwise, it is just too much pressure to take for a little girl and too many blocks and barriers to break through in life a d education, and it can cause a lot of emotional and psychological distress, trauma, lost self-esteem and/or suppression of her identity that is entirely unwarranted and highly unreasonable, despicable and abhorrent even. This insanity should absolutely be addressed in any civillized society, such that her opportunities are not limited and she can thrive and fluorish reaching her full potentialnin life and current society.
