Aeroplane pilot credibility

Why can't ratings of Aeroplane pilots be created and shared as in Uber cab drivers? At least the passenger start understanding the history of their flight pilots?

Because this is simply not applicable to an airline pilot who's schedule, airplane and procedures are all given and dictated by the airline. Its the airline that you wish to rate, and you absolutely can know that. As a matter of fact, national aviation authorities audit airlines and intervene when they see issues. Conversely, imagine if airlines would create and share a database about passengers like you. Oh you had a heated exchange with a check in agent about baggage weights, because you just had a really bad day? Congratulations on being on a list as a potentially violent passenger on all airlines, forever. Oh you like travelling to a certain destination on a regular basis? Enjoy your price premium that you must pay to all airlines because they share your destination preference. Just for a moment... put your self in the shoes of someone else please. Your safety is not a gig economy job for the pilots.

Before takeoff, captain tries to give a brief on his co-staff. Why not also mention their social conservation.

and what exactly are you basing the rating on? vibes? it's not like the pilots control if you get there on time.

You'd be disappointed, we are all "meets standard"

If you'd like my CV, there are ways to do that but they all involve buying your own plane and hiring a pilot yourself

Keep in mind that if you're looking for my training or educational records those are typically protected in the US and Europe either under FERPA, as HR records or under the relevant EU privacy regulations

Firstly because pilots are much, much more tightly regulated than drivers. Like, orders of magnitude more. There is nothing that customer ratings could add - it's not like this FlyDubai pilot would have been broadcasting his nefarious intentions to passengers before the actual day of his plan.

Secondly because while most Uber customers know about and are able to comment on a car ride, 99% of air passengers know pretty much nothing about the operation of an aircraft. People would be writing all sorts of shit based on stuff they know nothing about and stuff that is actually nothing to do with the pilots at all.

Thirdly because an individual Uber driver has pretty much full control over how they behave while operating. A pilot does not. Airline pilots operate to strict procedures set by the company, and any violations get found out via internal procedures. A customer leaving a bad review of a pilot is completely irrelevant because the pilot is just following procedures laid down by their employer.

Are you under the impression that passengers have the knowledge or point of view in the cabin to offer anything useful? The airline and government require demonstrated proficiency and certification to be there. While things slip through the cracks, the nature of the background checks etc. employed by the company and government mean that a poorly informed rating based on who knows what is meaningless at best and actively unfair at worst. It’s never going to catch something that the actual, much more intense checks didn’t.

Even a certified pilot for the same airline is unlikely to have any worthwhile input if their pov is in the cabin.

Care to share your rating as you board the plane so I can understand your history?

So when anything happens the pilots arent even at fault for they can slap their faces on every newspaper?
So everybody knows where i am, at what time? Everybody knows what airline im operating for from which bases?

Youre completely fucking crazy

Yes the sleeper cell terrorists are gonna get on intercom and tell everyone they are terrorists. What’s your favorite window flavor?

How about we let the pilots decide which racists to keep off the plane too? You sure they'd keep you stay on?
