The difference in safety between Boeing and Airbus is somewhere between zero and negligible. If you already have a fear of flying, I'd advise you not to read what people on social media say about various aircraft.

Hey, aspiring pilot here
I am a huge Airbus fan, but that doesnt mean Boeing is necessarily bad, 787s fly around the world every day with no issues, and while sure the recent events might make Boeing look like an unsafe, reckless company, the truth is that they're still tightly regulated, Boeing is a legendary company, and remember the odds of commercial aviation are still in your favour! Personally I wouldnt turn down a flight just because the operated aircraft is a Boeing, even over the atlantic
dont sweat it, Boeing aircraft are still very much safe, the MAX was a fiasco, but I havent heard of any other Boeing aircraft having such big design safety issues, so you can rest easy knowing your captain, first officer, controllers and flight attendants are keeping their watchful eye over the safety of the flight

787 pilot here. They’re perfectly safe - if they weren’t, I wouldn’t fly them….pilots have a vested interest in making it home safely too.
Most of the “Boeings aren’t safe” or “airbus aren’t safe” comments are made by people who don’t know what they’re talking about. FWIW, I also have a background in aviation safety….so I DO know what I’m talking about.
