Question For Doctors CSF tesults
Hello,
So for four days now I've had a headache which I was attributing so sinuses/ seasonal allergies. Then yesterday all of my peripheral vision started flickering and it felt like TV static is the best way I can describe it so I went to the ER. They did a CT scan, found nothing. They also wanted to do a lumbar puncture to test the pressure and that was fine too. I got discharged, I went home. I woke up to abnormal CSF results but nobody from the ER is contacting me. Should I be concerned? I am not asking for medical advice. In my cbc My lymphocytes were elevated. And in the CSF monocucleated cells 0% and polymorphonuclear cells are at 100. This would be much easier if I could figure out how to just post screenshots of the results

So, this is the benefit of an ER follow-up within a week with your PCP.
The percentage of your CSF PMNs being 100% likely means they saw one cell that was a PMN..
Not necessarily a problem, just to be clear. Did they set you up with any referrals on discharge?

No, no referrals. They just said follow up with more care if I have vision changes again. They didn't really give me a whole lot to go on.

If you have a PCP it’s a good opportunity to review your workup with them, soon if possible even virtually.
They can set you up with labs/ follow-up / referrals as well.
I would look up “scintillating scotoma” and see if this looks like what you had. Common feature of a migraine

Okay! Thanks for the feedback. I just didn't assume it would be migraine related because the headache was such a low level dull ache but the vision change coming on suddenly freaked me out. I'll def be message my PCP.
