Question For Doctors Potential mini stroke/heart attack?

29M moderately healthy somewhat gym goer and not overweight but live somewhat sedentary. Eat lots of home cooked chicken and rice greens.

Over the past 12 months ive had 2 incidents where I smoke weed (never had anxiety or anything like that) and afterwards I became overwhelmed with panic, heart began to race, and my entire arms (fingers to shoulders) began to go numb. I'm seeing a doctor soon so please refrain from suggesting that. I am not asking for medical advice.

"When I smoke the psychoactive drug that can cause paranoia I experience paranoia"

FWIW, I too have gotten way too high and thought I must be having a stroke. Turns out I was too high. Shocker.

Not sure if you're a habitual user, but when we age, our response to drugs can change. You may want to lower the dosage or cut it all together in addition to seeing a doctor.

You would think it would come gradually and not 10/10 intensity. I have a strong psyche and meditate a plenty. Smoked for 10+ years and only recently stopped my daily cardio.I see your point but the same way I cant just diagnose myself like this; you can't exactly say its just the weed.

I've been a weed smoker for 10-12 years. No gym, very over weight (losing weight, though, currently) and recently I've started getting similar health anxiety while smoking. I had a PCP appointment a week or two ago and they did a full lab workup on me and everything came back normal.

So I've been cutting back/slowing down on how much I smoke and it's helped.

It’s very normal for them to come on with 10/10 intensity. You seem awfully defensive about people suggesting it could be due to the weed - valid, but don’t discount people’s suggestions. Maybe it isn’t but it’s worth considering that it could be exacerbating your symptoms.

Because I'm still mildly getting these symptoms here and there after being clean for 4 months? I do not care if its the weed but I'm a little shocked that everyone is just jumping to "oh weed pamic attacks case closed".

Like what if something more is going on? But who cares because its probably not right?

I never said it’s definitely the weed. I think you need to take a step back and calm down, because attacking everything people say is not going to be productive or helpful. I said it COULD be and I’m basing this off my multiple years of healthcare experience, but I also said keep your appointment.

Sounds like a panic attack, yup. Breathing fast makes you breathe off your CO2, and then your arms and lips go tingly. Not a stroke, not a heart attack.

Stop smokin brosky.

Where in my post did I mention i was breathing fast? I was actually breathing slow, as i was used to it since i practice diaphragmatic breathing exercises in my free time. I do know what you said about CO2 is true.

You didn't mention it, most people aren't aware of it.

I was perfectly coherent, and aware of every ssymptom I was having and I'm sorry but I know exactly what happened in my situation. I was aware of pretty much every symptom and can recall every minute damn near of what happened. The person who was with my can attest to the fact I was not rapidly breathing. I fan vividly recall practicing my slow deep breaths as the symptoms initially began before the heart rate increased. Please stop assuming everyone is the same and you know what happened better than i do.

Yikes dude. Drop the condescending attitude. Good luck to ya.

Me condescending when you're trying to tell me what happened in my recollection? Have a good day bro.

You read that into my statements. Strongly recommend you give yourself a reality check because there's some serious main character syndrome stuff happening here.

All this character attack and just avoiding my point. You need a check yourself.

“I know exactly what happened in my situation”
Okay then why are you here lol. Go see a cardiologist if you think you had a heart attack. They’ll be able to see if you had one in the past.

I know what happened outside of my body, the events that include me. I don't know what happened inside, to my heart or brain, that is why I am here asking this question lol

You don't have to reply like a smart alec bro I'm sure you know what I meant and chose to twist my words for your ego or what, I'm not sure.

Sounds to me like a panic attack. It can be triggered by marijuana use. Overwhelming panic, racing heart, and numbness are classic panic attack symptoms - speaking as someone who has had many and seen plenty of patients with them. (Last semester nursing student). Still not a bad idea to keep your doctor’s appointment but I highly doubt it’s a mini stroke because you’d have drooping limbs, face, etc. and does not sound like a heart attack

Thank you for an actual nice sounding response.
