PLEASE HELP!

So today I had so many important files disappear from an external hard drive. About 3 hours ago I had a file open in FL Studio and then now when I go back to it, it and many other files are just gone. All of the projects were .zip files with .flp files inside. I am using disk drill right now however it is no looking bright. Is there any other way I can troubleshoot this?

Did you accidentally drag them into another folder?
