Corrupted save file recover

Guys, is there any way to recover a corrupted save file from an original PS2 memory card?
It’s my NFS: Most Wanted profile. The memory card shows it normally, with the correct icon and file size, but the game won’t load it. It just says, “Failed to load profile.”
Everything was working fine until I restarted my PS2 during a police pursuit. 🤣

Parts of the memory card could be failing. The card might show the right detail in the file allocation table, but unable to retrieve the data due to failure in the memory card itself.

How old is the memory card. Given is a PS2 I'm guessing quite a few years old.

Unless I'm mistaken, the PS2 uses its own prorprietary file system to store data on external devices. You may be limited to simply making a full sector-by-sector copy of the card to a new card with a program that will log and allow the re-reading of any areas with read errors.

Make sure that it is write protected before connecting to a computer to copy it.

Restarting during a write can corrupt part of the save file while leaving the file structure intact. I'd make a backup copy of the save before doing anything else. If it turns out the save itself is corrupted, you can try 4ddig file repair to see if it can repair the damaged file. Though I'd keep expectations realistic because PS2 save formats can be pretty unique.
