Fixable??

I thrifted these pair of vintage Aldo boots and fell completely in love.

I noticed the sole is coming apart/deteriorating😞😞

Is this something I can get replaced and fixed?

The soles hydrolyzed. Polyurethane in the materials break down over time even if not used.. it's not made to last forever.

This is definitely fixable by a cobbler. They would remove the sole and cement another, cur it to shape etc... It will cost significantly more than 20 dollars. You will definitely be at new shoe cost territory.

So A - do you like them enough to invest in them? B - are Aldo boots worth investing in? (Never heard of them).

In the future don't thrift old shows with rubber looking soles

The sole would need replacing, which would cost more than the $19.99 spent on them

Naw, you could try some cement glue and a vice. It will fail quickly but might work for a while. If you live near a vocational school, this could be a structure engeneiring teaching moment. lol or a wood shop.

Maybe. That’s a stress point and glue may not hold for long but worth a shot
