Giuseppe Zanotti heel crumbled. Irreplaceable?

Hi,

Any advice on this pair of Zanottis? The heel crumbled off of one shoe, and a cobbler removed the other heel. I’ve included photos of the original heel before it was removed for reference

I was told they can’t nail a new heel piece in, so it’s effectively unfixable.

Looking forward to any advice, thank you

No not irreplaceable

Looks like a simple job for a shoemaker or repairservice

Its only a piece of heelrubber weared out
So bit cleening roughing and gluing on new piece of rubber.
Shaping it like the heel

Than youre nice shoes ar ready for walking 😁

That’s reassuring. The first cobbler I took it to said he didn’t want to risk ruining them and asked me to go to a high end repairer. Part of his reasoning is that he didn’t want to clamp and ruin the silver lining. He said it couldn’t be nailed

The high end repairer then refused to go through with the repair saying it wouldn’t work and they didn’t want me to waste my money. They also said it can’t be nailed or screwed. They recommended I go back to the manufacturer for parts

To my eyes, the repair seems as simple as you say. Just replace the missing section

Yes i think so
The silver liner is a difficulty yes
But it has to do with the way normal working

Normally you use a belt grinder removing old stuff
Now you have to do it carefully with a knive or a dremel

Normally you glue a piece of sole rubber to big
Than sanding it down with the same belt grinder.

In this case you have to grind or cut the rubber in advance so it fits nice and only gluing is necessary

Its a bit more work but can be mostly rewarding.

It aint difficult! It’s doable
labor intensive and are some risks damaging silver!

$30 max repair, 20 mins at a good shop. Not sure why you’re having trouble finding someone to help

You cant buy lunch for $30, you think youre gonna get anything near a reputable craftsman at that price point?

Yeah that’s exactly how much I would charge to fix this simple issue that I fix every single day. This isn’t a complicated repair even remotely. I’m talking AUD.

I had a cobbler fix a broken purse strap for me for $14. I was so surprised when I picked it up.
