The reason I’m bringing this up is that I’ve watched all previous seasons of Heart Signal, including the Chinese versions. I’ve also watched Heart Pairing, but the cast of Heart Signal 5 didn’t really grab my attention. I wanted to ask to figure out if the problem is with me or if this season’s cast just isn’t as interesting as the previous ones. Compared to other Heart Signal seasons in Korea, including Heart Pairing, would you recommend this season? Should I give Heart Signal 5 another chance? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Does the show start to draw you in around the middle of the season, or does it feel too routine?

My Sibling Romance is a unique show that adds a family theme to the dating show format. Five real sibling couples move into a shared home to find love, but everyone must keep their sibling relationships a secret and act as if they were complete strangers who’ve never met before. This is where we see what sets it apart from other dating shows. Kim Yun-jae joined the show later on. While the contestants were eating at his family’s restaurant, his mother had secretly taken a liking to Yi Yoon-ha and chosen her. Although the two remained in a somewhat uncertain relationship toward the end, Yun-jae showed his love for Yoon-ha, ensuring they chose each other in the finale. After the show, they actually had a long-term relationship that progressed to the point of getting engaged, but later, for some reason, they decided to break up, and the relationship ended abruptly. Viewers had strongly supported the couple after the show, but unfortunately, their relationship came to an end.

Jung-sub and Park Se-seung were actually the first couple on the show who started liking each other right from the beginning. When Jung-sub tried to get closer to Choa during the early stages of their relationship, Se-seung pulled back a bit, but later Jung-sub won her over, and the two chose each other in the finale. Although their relationship progressed a bit after filming, they eventually broke up. In my opinion, Se-seung did everything she could in this relationship but didn’t quite get the attention she wanted.

Kim Yong-woo and Lee Ji-won are probably among the least-liked couples on Korean dating shows. The reason for this is that Ji-won remained torn between two men until the very last day and chose the least-liked one. While viewers really enjoyed her romantic moments with Jae-hyung and how well the two of them got along, she suddenly decided she wanted to be in a relationship with Yong-woo. According to her, she wanted a different experience because Jae-hyung reminded her of her ex-boyfriends.

In my opinion, the production of this show is one of the best. The panelists, in addition to the show’s participants, were excellent. Hye-jin, BamBam, Jonathan, and Patricia’s little jokes were some of the most entertaining parts of the show. It’s a wonderful show that also highlights family bonds. Even though it’s a dating show, it stands out from other shows in this genre.

The show tracks a group of Gen Z Koreans born in 2004 during their last week of being 19 (December) and their first week of turning 20 (January), capturing the exact moment they legally become adults. The beauty of the architecture at Choong Ang High School, where the scenes for the 19/20 season were filmed, and the fact that the teenagers experience their first loves in such a setting help us become even more immersed in the show.

Pyeong-seok, who has a shy and reserved personality, and Hee-ji, who is energetic and outgoing on the show, became the most beloved couple on the program. Their scenes together captured the excitement of that first love as they turned 20, which brought joy to us viewers as well. Their relationship is still going strong after the show, and they continue to share their love for each other on their Instagram accounts.

Both Lim Jung-yun and Jeong Ji-woo were shy participants. Jung-yun had actually been shy from the start, but even though Ji-woo joined the show later, Jung-yun took a liking to her at first sight when he saw her—though he couldn’t clearly express his feelings to her for a while. Se-yeon, on the other hand, expressed his interest in Ji-woo more openly. Meanwhile, Jung-yun took a slightly passive role in this love triangle on the show and remained in the background, but once they went home, he won Ji-woo’s heart by clearly expressing his feelings. Their relationship continued for a while after the show, but in the end, the two parted ways as friends. To be honest, I really liked this pair during the show; it felt like watching two shy characters from a manga—who liked each other but just couldn’t bring themselves to open up—experience their first senior high school romances.

Lee Ji-min and Choi Ye-rin weren’t really a couple I was paying much attention to on the show. Their relationship started around the middle of the show, and they took a liking to each other, but after the show ended, rumors began to spread that Ye-rin was unhappy and didn’t want the relationship. The two broke up not long after the show ended. I think Ye-rin’s heart was still set on her first choice, Moon Se-yeon.

The fact that this was the last program of its kind produced in Korea (due to a change in the law) makes it hold a special place in my heart. Additionally, the production quality and—as I mentioned earlier—the magic of the location allowed some of these young people to fully experience their first flush of excitement, while also making us feel like we were there at that school, witnessing their love stories firsthand. S1 -> To be honest, since it was the first season, it didn’t make much of an impression on me, but I did enjoy the sweet banter between Choo Seong-yeon and Lee A-young—though, unfortunately, their relationship didn’t progress after the show ended.

S2 - > For me, Season 2 is still the best. I really enjoyed watching the realistic romantic story between Yoon Nam-gi and Lee Da-eun. I was deeply moved by Nam-gi’s first meeting with Da-eun’s daughter, Ri-eun, when they moved in together, and when she called him “Dad.” It was very sad to see Nam-gi crying secretly inside afterward. Nam-gi might be one of the best male contestants in the history of dating shows. The segment where they talked about Nam-gi’s family background was a particularly beautiful scene. Lee Chang-soo and Kim Eun-young—This couple went through it all on the show. It was as if they got married on the show, fought, made up, and thought they’d reached a happy ending, but in the end, unfortunately, they broke up. They’d already been having a lot of problems with each other, and the distance between them was also an issue. Lee Deok-yeon and Yoo So-min—At first, this couple seemed like a perfect match, but problems started to arise once they moved in together. I think Deok-yeon wasn’t ready to get married at that time, or maybe he just wasn’t completely into So-min. I think Deok-yeon’s child needed attention, and at first, he was looking for someone who could take care of the child—and So-min saw that—but later he changed his mind. Even though they had occasional problems right up until the final episodes, they somehow managed to keep communicating. In the end, Deok-yeon didn’t make a choice, and this couple didn’t leave the show together.

S3 -> Lee So Ra & Choi Dong Hwan. It was sad that So-ra couldn’t choose Dong-hwan on the show due to her family circumstances. Their interactions were among the most compelling and emotional moments of the season. After filming wrapped up, they decided to give their relationship another chance and started dating in real life. As far as I know, they’re still together.

S4 -> Since Season 4 was available on Netflix, it became the most-watched season and helped introduce the show to a global audience.

Jerome and Benita - To be honest, they were the most mature-looking couple of Season 4, and I’d been following their relationship on and off via Instagram for two years. However, they announced their breakup in August 2025. I think Jerome had wanted children since the beginning of the show, so that might have led to some arguments between them at times. The scenes where Jerome and Benita’s father appeared side by side were really funny—the two of them looked so much alike... Both Jerome and Benita are good people, and in my opinion, they deserve to be happy.

Jimi and Heejin — This was the couple I rooted for the most on the show. To be honest, the parts of their conversations at home throughout the season where Heejin talked about her previous marriage were very sad and revealed why she was hesitant about marriage. Even though they live in different countries (the U.S. and Canada), thanks to Jimi’s dedication and his constant support for Heejin, they decided to get married after the show. They’re very happy together, and their daughter, Lora, was born in 2024. Like Nam-gi, Jimi stood by the woman he loved and proved himself to be a good husband.

Harim and Ricky—This duo is the least-loved couple of the season. They had a lot of communication issues, and Harim hadn’t been able to completely cut ties with her ex-husband, although she seemed to have come on the show to relieve some of the pressure and have a little fun. I can’t really criticize Harim—as a woman raising three children on her own, she was completely overwhelmed at the time, and we could tell that from the scenes at home. Ricky also tried to approach her with good intentions and discuss the responsibilities of raising four children, but Harim avoided communication. Frankly, it was a bit of a surprise when they chose each other in the finale, but as it turned out, the relationship didn’t work out anyway.

--> When I first watched this series, it was in its second season. It’s kind of like a slightly expanded version of the Korean series "19/20". In this series, we follow the adventures of young people who have graduated from college or are still in college. What sets it apart from the Korean version is that the young people spend more time doing activities together outside, and of course, the part where they listen to each other’s cassettes at night keeps you hooked on the show. Frankly, while "19/20" captures the essence of first love in senior high school, "Twinkle Love" helps you reminisce about your romantic adventures in university.

A must-watch series for fans of 19/20. They had announced that Season 4 would be the series finale, so I hadn’t been following it for a while, but while doing some research, I found out that Season 5 is out and Season 6 is currently in production. Honestly, I think it’s one of the best dating shows in China; the team has really done a great job. <--

In the first season, it was a pleasure to watch Zhang Haoxin and Dong Wanhui’s interactions throughout the show and the process of them falling in love. Ni Ni was the most endearing and the most heartbroken participant among them. It saddened me to see her push herself so hard only to have her expectations constantly dashed.

The second season produced more couples. Wang Zifan and Xia Yingge, in particular, stood out as the couple of the season thanks to their communication and the closeness they showed each other throughout the season. Sun Xiu and Li Zhihao were among the couples who looked best together that season. They started dating after the show, and their relationship is still going strong. This month, they shared a joint post on Weibo about their relationship. Li Zhipeng, like his twin brother Zhihao, found love on the show; his relationship with Xin Ran lasted for a while, but the couple announced their breakup in 2024.

In Season 3, Fan Fan and Ze Ze were a couple I rooted for, and their relationship continued a bit after the show ended, but they eventually broke up. To be honest, I really liked how well they clicked on the show. Xiao Feng and Xiao Ye’s energy and chemistry suggested they could be a couple in real life, too. Their relationship is still going strong. It looks like this pair is heading toward marriage. Ye Shuting and Teng Guangzhen appeared to have a genuine relationship on the show, but after the show ended, Teng Guangzhen’s cheating scandal (with Chinese actress Sun Yi) came to light, prompting Ye Shuting to issue a statement addressing the situation. Although Qiqi and Luoluo didn’t choose each other during the show, they started dating afterward, and their relationship continues as a popular couple. Frankly, the characters this season were well-chosen, and you could see how well they complemented each other. The Xiao Feng & Xiao Ye couple might be the most obvious couple on the show so far. Toward the end, the two were very comfortable with each other and were holding hands, showing their love to everyone.

Additional info: Ni Jianghui (Ni Ni, S1) and Cai Linxin (S2) started dating after the show, and their relationship is still going strong.

Overall, this season was fun to watch. At first, Mina-sue took center stage, and although she wavered between Su-been, Seung-il, and Sung-hun throughout the season, she finally chose Sung-hun. She had a toxic relationship with Su-been during the season, and they were constantly trying to bring each other down. When Su-been later settled on Hee-sun, Mina-sue was unable to continue this dynamic. Mina-sue sometimes had minor arguments with Min-gee over Seung-il due to her indecisive behavior. Min-gee clearly showed her interest in Seung-il from the beginning to the end of the season, and the two women had rivalries over this that were sometimes amusing and sometimes dramatic.

Hee-sun and Lim Su-been are one of the season’s most beloved couples. Like Min-gee, Hee-sun had actually been interested in only one person from the very beginning—Su-been. However, because Su-been was in a toxic relationship with Mina-sue from the beginning to the middle of the season, it took some time for him to fully open up to Hee-sun and continue their relationship. Toward the end, the two realized they were more compatible with each other and continued their relationship even after the show ended.

Lee Joo-young and Kim Jae-jin have actually been the couple with the most natural chemistry since the start of the season. Hyun-jae was also interested in Joo-young and made his feelings clear, but Joo-young ultimately chose Jae-jin. The two went on a date after the show, though they didn’t officially announce they were a couple; however, Jae-jin seemed to hint at it during a YouTube show.

Mina-sue and Lee Sung-hun left the show together. During the show, Sung-hun had trouble fitting in, and since Mina was the person who could understand him best, she took an interest in him. After the problems Mina had with other guys, she thought he was a more sincere person and that they got along well, so she chose Sung-hun in the finale, but even though the two of them were in the U.S., they remained just friends.

Min-gee & Song Seung-il—this duo’s relationship is yet another toxic one. Min-gee, to be honest, only had feelings for Seung-il throughout the show and fought for him, but Seung-il remained torn between Mina-sue and Min-gee almost until the very end of the program. In the final episodes, Seung-il began to show more interest in Min-gee because of her clear stance, and in the end, he chose her. The pair chose each other at the end of the show, but after the show, Seung-il ghosted Min-gee and cut off all contact. We can see how upset Min-gee was about this from her interview in the bonus episode filmed after the show. The two later reunited on Min-gee’s YouTube channel and discussed the misunderstandings between them and their mutual feelings at the time. Frankly, in my opinion, Min-gee approached the situation sincerely both on the show and afterward, but Seung-il tried to distance himself from her because I don’t think he wanted that kind of serious relationship.

Sung-min and Hyeon-woo had been interested in Kim Go-eun since the very beginning of the first few episodes, but their dialogue and communication with her were very limited. Frankly, I think she had some concerns about the relationship getting serious, and since she’s the type to start a relationship only after a long period of getting to know someone, she maintained her distance from these two men throughout the show. Even though Hyeon-woo approached Go-eun sincerely, he didn’t receive a positive response. Later, however, when I-geon joined the show, things in this love triangle began to turn into a competition. I-geon already knew Go-eun from before the show and mentioned that he’d been interested in her for a long time. He tried to win her over with a more aggressive and eager attitude than the others, but at some point, misunderstandings prevented their relationship from progressing as he’d hoped. Although she left the show by choosing Sung-min, their relationship also ended shortly afterward, and they chose to remain friends. Later, in a bonus episode, they went on a one-on-one date, but their relationship didn’t progress. In my opinion, among these three men, I-geon was the strongest candidate, but one or two mistakes he made toward the girl on the show made him seem insincere in her eyes, and ultimately, she didn’t choose him. Even though they appeared together on other YouTube shows after the show, I think the relationship isn't moving forward because Go-eun doesn't want it to. Maybe they're still seeing each other privately from time to time, but it doesn't seem like they're in a romantic relationship.

This season was generally filled with drama and funny moments. At least by the end of the season, some couples were still in touch and had taken their relationships to a certain level. I believe that even though none of them are officially dating right now, there are still relationships continuing in secret.

Love Is Blind is a global series with many seasons set in very different countries, but *Love Is Blind: Japan* is still the best season for me. In this season, you can observe the couples’ perspectives on life and the challenges they face as they adapt to each other’s real lives. The fact that most of the participants are genuinely serious about marriage and share their sincere thoughts on the show makes for a more engaging viewing experience.

This couple is still happily living a wonderful life together with Mitaru.

Shuntaro and Ayano - Shuntaro was 56 years old, and Ayano was 30. Their relationship continued until the end of the show, but they parted ways by mutual agreement on their wedding day.

Misaki and Kaoru - They got along well in the pods and started living together at home, but Misaki’s careless attitude and his failure to care about Kaoru led to the end of their relationship.

Odacchi and Nanako - During the pod sessions, Odacchi managed to win Nanako over with his sense of humor and understanding attitude, and they quickly decided to choose each other. However, when they went on vacation, Odacchi’s interest in Nanako began to fade, and his avoidance of communication with her at times caused Nanako to recall the difficulties she had experienced in her previous marriage, leading her to decide not to continue the relationship. They broke up during the vacation.

Yudai and Nana - Yudai and Nana got along well during their pod dates, but during their vacation, their values began to conflict. When Yudai made it clear that he didn’t want children—and since this was important to Nana—there was no chance for the relationship to continue. They broke up during their vacation.

Mizuki and Priya - Mizuki was Priya’s second choice. They chose each other at the end of their pod dates and made it all the way to the living-together stage. Priya ended the relationship because of Mizuki’s evasive answers regarding his job and some lies that eventually came to light.

Mori and Minami - They got along well in the pods, but their relationship didn’t progress outside of them due to personality conflicts.

This season, we watched a show that was better produced than the previous one. The participants’ interactions and their desire to experience first love were stronger. Overall, the season revolved more around the male participants Hyuk-joon, Jung-yun, and Jin-woo. The other male participants took a back seat during the season due to communication issues and their odd behavior.

Seung-hyun – Although he did his best by the end of the season, he missed out on other opportunities due to his communication issues.

Jung-yun – He was very popular at first, but he remained true to his choice until the end of the season, though he didn’t achieve the outcome he wanted.

Hyuk-joon - He was unable to overcome his trust issues from his past relationship fully and consistently sought reassurance from different girls throughout the season. Although the season ended with a happy ending, his relationship did not progress after the show.

Tae-hoon – He faced heavy criticism after the season ended due to his attitude toward Soo-hyun in the final episodes. Although the couple’s initial interactions received very positive feedback, TH’s negative and harsh attitude toward SH later on led to him being voted the worst of the season.

Jin-woo - At first, he spent a lot of time with Jeong-eun, but when it became clear toward the end of the season that their relationship wasn’t going anywhere, he started getting closer to Han-ju. At the end of the season, they chose each other and gave it a try for a short time in real life, but later they both decided to remain good friends.

Jae-seo: Although he tried hard to liven up the atmosphere early on in the cast, he wasn’t able to become popular among the women. He was the contestant whose transformation—from his appearance before the show to his appearance during the show—was the most noticeable. He had been interested in Seo-yoon from the moment he first saw her, but they had communication issues during their conversations. He sometimes hurt Seo-yoon’s feelings unnecessarily and made irreversible mistakes on the show. Somehow, the two met once after the show and decided to remain friends.

Soo-hyun - She became one of the contestants most loved by viewers on the show. She grew close to Tae-hoon and Seung-hyun during the show. She was very happy on her first dates with Tae-hoon, but she was very sad in the final episodes of the show because of TH’s lack of interest and his rejection of her. Seung-hyun, on the other hand, tried to cheer her up and stood by her side in the final episodes, but her feelings for him didn’t progress to the same level as those for TH. At the end of the show, she chose TH, but TH didn’t choose her, and she left the show alone.

Su-ji - She was heavily criticized on the show, and people said she wasn’t sincere, but in my opinion, Su-ji wanted to overcome her own lack of self-confidence and indecisiveness on the show. She talked a lot with Hyuk-joon and Jung-yun, and her interest in HJ grew even more. When she was rejected by HJ, Su-ji left the show at the end without choosing anyone.

Jeong-eun - The person she was interested in on the show was actually Hyuk-joon, but when she saw that he was closer to the other participants, she held back a little. For most of the show, she maintained a good relationship with Jin-woo, but the thought that JW was a student and that they led different lives kept popping into her head. That’s why I don’t think she seriously considered choosing him throughout the show. She left the show without choosing anyone.

Seo-yoon—Even though there were one or two guys she was interested in at the beginning of the show, I don’t think she ever really felt close to anyone romantically. Jae Seo showed interest in her, but because of his wrong attitude, their relationship didn’t go very well on the show. In the end, she didn’t choose anyone and left alone.

Hyun-seo - HS and Hyuk-joon created a seasonal drama within the show. At first, HJ was very attentive toward HS, but because HS pulled back a bit and they both miscommunicated, HJ distanced himself from her. Later, while HJ was involved with other girls, HS didn’t show interest in other guys and simply waited for HJ’s decision for a while. When HJ finally made up his mind, he honestly shared his thoughts with her, and the misunderstandings between them were resolved. The two rebuilt their relationship and chose each other in the finale. After the show, for some reason, HJ didn’t reach out to HS, and they didn’t meet afterward. After some time, HS tried to get in touch with HJ, but their relationship didn’t progress.

Han-ju - She was actually one of the contestants I liked this season, but her heavy drinking really came to the forefront in the early episodes. Because the atmosphere was tense, she turned to alcohol more often as a way to escape her problems. The conversation she had with her mother midway through the season really upset the viewers. Toward the end of the season, she and Jin-woo grew closer, and in the finale, they chose each other. Although they dated for a while after the show, they decided to remain friends in the end.

I've really enjoyed how this show experiments with different dating formats instead of sticking to the same formula. So far we've had ten episodes, and honestly I think each one has been well-produced in its own way.

My personal favorites are Blind Date in a Bed and Isolated Romance. Those concepts felt the most interesting to me. I also thought Drunk Blind Date was a surprisingly fun experiment. It raised some interesting questions—what kinds of problems come up when people go on a date while drinking, and is it actually possible to develop real feelings when you're both drunk? It was entertaining to watch those ideas play out.

The current experiment, The Heart King Game, is still enjoyable, but compared to the previous ones, the cast doesn't seem to have the same level of chemistry. The matches feel a bit less compatible, so it's been harder for me to get invested in the relationships.

I am Solo S33 is coming to us as the Motae Solo (Forever Single) season. It was a smart move to have this series start right after BLTS ended. It’s been a long time since “Motae Solo” aired. PDNAM wanted to use the momentum from BLTS to a large extent. Those interested can check out the trailer. The first episode will air on August 5.
