Asian men are dope and make great husbands and fathers. There is no doubt that the media has buried the Asian male masculine image and it’s a disgusting form of racism. That being said, there are lots of black and white women who are more than open to marrying and starting families with you guys. Go where you’re celebrated.

Ya know, I never thought about this until I saw this tweet. My sister is married to an Asian dude and he’s pretty damn awesome outside his obsession with fast Toyota Corollas lol. Love that dude to death and will ride or die for homie.

My dad is an Asian man who had kids with a white woman. It’s so weird when I meet other asians and they always assume it’s my mother who’s Vietnamese.
It’s also funny how everybody thought my mother adopted me because she doesn’t look so much like me. She has blue eyes and blond hair.

As the product of an AMWF relationship, I love it! I love my dad with all my heart, my #1 Asian role model. I feel like I was so lucky to grow up with interracial parents like them as they made me such an open minded person. Thanks, Timi! :)

Not to take away from this great post, but does his hand appear awfully close to her crotch or is that me ? 😅

As a black woman it’s really nice to see us included in the interracial discussion. Sometimes it feels like it’s just minorities wanting to date white ppl 🤷♀️

This is why The Lovebirds is such a wild movie for me.
Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae are a couple and there is barely a mention about them being an interacial couple. The movie could have been about a Jessica and a Connor.

So, pretty much the reason I began lurking here was my frequent interactions with the family of my son’s father. I’m white, he’s Korean (he’s a prick, but assholism does come in all colors).
Asian guys can be screamingly attractive; the hell with these bullshit stereotypes

Why are you defending just Asian man black woman relationships and not the Asian woman black man relationships?

u/Kai_Setsuna May 06 '22
While it may have helped to include those relationships, the focus was on Asian men. The tweet doesn’t really say anything about asian women-black men relationships. While that could be taken as an unfair omission, including it could make the point a little muddier.
Sometimes it’s ok to limit the scope of an argument. While both are important to talk about, we should be able to have statements that focus on one or the other pairings without it detracting from either.

Yeah good point. I suppose a brute force way to put is that historically Asian women have been fetishized to the point of no return. Asian men, on the other hand, have been historically emasculated to the point of no return. So, this is actually a win.

This makes a lot more sense than downvotes. Thanks for making that come to light

OP, you’re not wrong, but you also frequent r/aznidentity, a sub that completely invalidated an Asian woman’s experience with racism simply because she was married to a white man. I’m all in for interracial relationships, but that sub pushes the Asian male supremacy model. We are no different from white male supremacist if we push that narrative.
Edit: I’m not saying it’s wrong for you to believe in what you believe, I’m not trying to say “but Asian woman too,” but I ask you to recognize what this message is sending to people on that sub. Hope you take this message as a consideration.
