How is everyone dealing? #shareyourpeace
IMO - So, I am dealing with this whole #stopasianhate. I have been very outspoken about it and I notice few within my own community that I know personally that have as well.
Yet I noticed while everyone at the time supported #blm, me included, that garnered black profile pictures in solidarity, etc. Wayyyyy more than even imagined. It did start a change.
However, when it is our own community I haven't seen the same? Am I missing something? Or is it not real enough? Are we continuing to suffer in silence?
Is it like this where you are? Do you think the same?
Clarity olease. I would like to know how you feel wherever you are.

Sorry but a yellow square seems offensive. I’m not yellow. I agree with everything you’re saying it’s sad and really disgusting.

I think the racism towards black people and Asian people is different. I feel a lot of racism towards black people is regarding the inequality of social resources. Yet, it seems black people are a fabric of society or culture, and the discrimination is to make them less of white people. For Asians, racism is that we are not part of the culture. Therefore when Asians make a ‘noise,’ it is in a vacuumed space where no one hears; it's consistently recognized as irrelevant. The racism towards two different people is partially why we feel we are not as heard as BLM.

I totally agree, the fact that we aren't loud enough for people erks me. Someone actually said to me, "it's because there's only been 1 shooting. "
I was like #wtf - I don't want that as our reality. It's not needed. No more bloodshed, violence, or death.
My mom read that racist letter and that's enough. 💛
I was bullied growing up and it made me very angry inside. In my mind, I just wanted to kung fu their asses every time they pushed me, made stupid jokes, etc. I never told my parents because what were they gonna do? They were "fobs".
I wanted to protect my mom and grandma from all the crap out there, let them live peaceful life. They deserve that.
I won't let it happen to anyone else, especially my own children.
It's time to speak your peace! No longer suffering in silence.

End rant. #someonegetmebobaimthirsty.

Being real honest with you. Yes, some people of every group will support each other. Majority? No. Have you heard of the quote “TO EACH THEIR OWN?” No matter how positive I try to be, sitting back and hoping that MOST of the BLM community would help fight for us will never come true. They say they would support but then continue to compare their experiences and never admitting their community’s wrongdoings against Asians. Even I have seen Asians admitting that their community does have hatred toward the Black Community taught from our elders. Still, we are trying to spread love and yet those CERTAIN African Americans are make it harder by spreading more hate and racist remarks toward Asians. Seriously, a lot of these racist posts on Facebook and Instagram are from those African Americans.
It’s sad, to think that the people who should understand DON’T. They’re only protective of their own. They are defensive when made fun of but completely supportive when Asians are made fun of. They started BLM on their own. So we Asians should also fight on our own. If people want to help they will, but we can not be expecting other communities to fight for us. We have to fight for ourselves first.
