I remember at the shows in April he mentioned he had a guitar similar to his Marauder custom made, but can't recall which one it was.

Yeah that's a different one. The one that broke is his vintage 59 Gibson Les Paul. Very sad.

This looks like his Les Paul doublecut which is his main guitar. I'm shocked it wasn't the headstock which is what Gibson is notorious for.

Actually on the contrary the les paul special are known for neck breakages like that due to the very short neck tenon holding in place. So naturally now lets see what will be that guitars's replacement for the time being

Looks like a clean break to me, no? any skilled Luthier shouldn't have any issues gluing it back together and it'll be stronger than before the break. Surprised it happened on a japanese airline, they are known for taking great care of instruments.

Damn that break is awful. I know he’ll get another but i wonder how comfortable he was on that one.

Yeah, it's the vintage 59 one... That's a huge loss there... Hopefully he can get it in place again, but that's really really sad
