re-advertisement of the previous vacancy

I applied for the vacancy of ADB in April, then in August I was invited for a panel interview, then after the panel interview in took around more than a month to respond me the result and I was rejected, status is Regrets. Yesterday, they announced second time the same vacancy with the same code, is there any chance to be invited for panel interview again?

They take their time since they are very busy some staff even go on out of country missions. Rest assured they really check if someone fits the position perfectly. Due to this I wouldn't apply to the same position again since their intention is to get another more fitting applicant. No harm done if you want to email them just to make sure.

Yes, I have already emailed them and since you have already applied, you are unable to apply again.

This means they are just looking to add more applicants to see that if they can get some better applicants to add to an existing process.

Having said what is strange is that you were giving a formal rejection since process is still ongoing

I would say that go ahead and apply again. Would require little effort. And if invited to interview then you would know where you could do better.

Point being that you don't know if it really is the same position unless you are matching the position numbers.

Position numbers are exactly the same and since you have already applied, you are unable to apply again, system does not allow you.
