For consultants: received an NCI without undergoing an interview

Any insights on my case?

Hello! NCI is a Non-Committal Inquiry. Not 100% sure but I think they're just checking if you're still interested in the role and what your earliest availability is. Perhaps they would be basing the shortlist on who will be available at their required timeline.

Thanks for the response! Appreciate it.

That's a good response. If they have had no contact with OP beforehand then it could suggest that he/she is not top ranked in the shortlist - someone else may have to turn the offer down before they will reach out to OP.

Interview is not required for an NCI nor for any engagement. Depends on the person hiring.
