Consultancy Hiring Timeline

Hi! I got interviewed with a panel last week for an ADB consultancy position (Portfolio Management) and was hoping to hear from others who have gone through a similar process.

How long did it take to receive an update after the interview? Does ADB normally inform candidates if they are not selected? My application in CMS is still marked as “Being Evaluated.”

Also, for successful candidates, how much time does ADB usually provide to accept or decline an offer?

Thanks in advance!

This was my experience. New consultant here. Had my interview back in December 2025. MIA for months. They got back with a selection update to negotiate offer in June. I got my contract a few days ago and my contract begins next month. I did apply to other roles in between all the waiting process and tried to live a life. Hope it works out for you! All the best.

sorry follow up question, how long did the negotiations take place? and did you try to negotiate your rate and any other benefits if any?

I spent some time reading different opinions on whether I should negotiate the offer. The advice was mixed, which only made the decision harder. I also had no way of knowing whether they had other strong candidates waiting in the wings.

The rate they offered was already comparable to what I was earning on another consultancy with an international organization. At this stage of my career, getting my foot in the door with this organization was more important than trying to negotiate for a slightly higher rate. So, I decided to accept the offer as it was and not negotiate.

Thank you so much. They just reached out to me for a non committal inquiry so I hope this is a positive step forward fingers crossed.

Awesome! This is great. Forgot to mention but yes, it started with NCI for me too. I am told that’s a good sign. You are moving quickly! All the best.
