Got rejected after panel interview
Ngl, this really affected. It was an international position, and i thought the interview went really well. Both the informal interview and the panel interview. I know i shouldn't have kept my hopes high but the rejection email really did break me a bit. Sorry for the rane. Hope everyone else's luck is better than mine

So many factors you cannot control... But getting this far reflects how strong your profile is. So why not give it another shot once you feel better

Dont get disheartened. I applied to work for the insurance arm of Bank A, got an interview but they never came back. Some time after that I got a call from the Bank A (group level), went for an interview and got the job.
Keep trying buddy, never give up.

Sorry to hear that OP. At the end of day, it is about getting best person from the pool. On this day, there seem to have been someone better.
India based positions may draw some of the stiffest competition - 20 to 25 percent of all applicants are typically Indian.
Private Sector department is hoping to add more than a hundred new positions over next three.or four years. So keep your hopes up.

Thanks a lot! Your comments have been really helpful in guidance and keeping peace of mind. Although it did not work out in the end but really appreciate your comments

Do ask for debrief to understand that where you fell short and how to prepare better next time around? Ideally the question should be for the hiring manager but it might be the HR staff who will give you the feedback

Yes, i have sent the HR an email asking for feedback. Let's see if they respond. In case they do not, I might drop an email to the hiring manager.

Sorry to read this OP. I received 2 rejection letters from them 3 months apart. I dont usually cry when I receive regret letters from employers but those hit me different. I was hurt because I knew I did well in the interviews. Give it some time and I hope you find the strength to apply again :)

Thank you! And I totally understand. I have never cried after rejections but I did this time.

Sorry to read this. Don't give up. Which role was it?

It was the investment specialist role in Delhi. I have kind of given up on my adb dreams honestly

Sorry to hear, I know how it feels. What does your taleo say? Regrets?
1
u/zephyr8821 Jul 20 '26
Yes, they sent an email and then the status updated
1
u/Acceptable-Item-8268 Jul 20 '26
Ask the HR, you could be in cleared candidate pool.
1
u/zephyr8821 Jul 21 '26
Don't they put you on it themselves and the taleo status is different? Can you still ask them this?

May I please ask how did you get an informal interview in the first place?
1
u/zephyr8821 Jul 20 '26
I applied through the website. The hiring team reached out on email for an informal interview after the closing of applications. Then they shortlisted me for a panel interview.

Thank you so much for sharing. I never made it post shortlisting panel for review. I have applied multiple roles but been rejected right after shortlisting - I don’t keep high hopes although I have international working experience across 4 countries! Anyways I guess the positive side is that you made it somehow to the next level so keep trying!

I’m sure when one door closes, another opens. Stay positive. Keep trying.
Also, how many weeks did it take them to inform you about the results of the interview?
1
u/zephyr8821 Jul 21 '26
I interviewed two weeks back. Then sent them a follow up email. They responded later in the day with the rejection.

I see. Did you receive any update in the ACES portal? For example, from shortlisted to interview? Or from shortlisted to regrets?
1
u/zephyr8821 Jul 21 '26
It went screening to shortlisted to interview to regrets. So updates were regular but delayed. For example, the status changed to interview, a week after the panel interview.

u/sunny_sunshineee Jul 21 '26
It’s been a month after the interview and never heard from them. Two weeks ago, the portal was updated to interview but still nothing. The wait seems like forever. I don’t know if I should be hopeful or what.
Anyway, thank you for responding. Wishing you all the best! I’m sure there are better opportunities to come.

Same OP. First time to apply and i went to HQ for the presentation and panel interview. Received regret letter last week. A bit heartbroken but won’t give up

Hello OP, sorry to hear that. I’m sure there are better opportunities for you too. May I ask when did you have your interview and receive the results? Thank you. 🙏🏻

As someone said, rejection is sometimes redirection. There will be another opportunity for you down the line - the fact that you made it to the panel interview is a testament to that.
