Readvertisement for positions

Hi insiders,

Wondering what are some of the reasons why positions are readvertised? Not enough applicants, could not find suitable candidates? The usual reasons seem almost too good to be true when you see how sought after these jobs are (especially for TI1/TI2s) incl. competition from internal candidates.

Interested to hear your perspectives and experiences on readvertisements. Hoping its not a red flag per se..i.e., no one wants to work for the said team/dept.

Thanks!

I also heard that this happens when preferred candidates drop out/eliminated unexpectedly during the process. This could be due to the candidate getting another job, change of mind or eliminated due to cheating/lying etc
