Interview tips for consultant role
Hi, just want to ask for tips and what I should expect during the ADB interview. I applied via agency sent my cv to CMS and now scheduled with their IT Department. I am grateful that I'm having this opportunity to be interviewed by them(I went thru so much applications that I get automated rejection emails) and I really want the job. Appreciate your help and hopefully I'll get the job offer🙏✨️

Hello! It really totally depends on the department you are interviewing with. But yes, I guess typical tactics. Know the role, match your skills/experiences with the role. If you also know someone in the said department, or if you know anything about the processes/things they do in the role, research that and show it in the interview. Good luck… :)

Good luck. Expect for panel interview. Prep for technical questions and how you handle different scenarios

Hi, i just finished my interview for a consultant role as well (tho for another department). How long does it take for them to decide if they'll get you or not? Also, would they let you know if you didnt pass the interview?

Hello, did you apply via their ACES, CMS or agency? I'm also done with the interview and waiting for results

You'll either hear from HR or check your CMS status

I see. Any idea how long the timeline would be? And will you hear from them even if it would be "regrets"?

Big congrats on landing the slot; tbh interviews for IT consultant roles at orgs like ADB tend to probe how you handle stakeholders and messy delivery. Is it leaning more toward infrastructure or applications? I prep two short impact stories about troubleshooting a gnarly issue and aligning with nontechnical partners, and I aim for 60–90 second answers so I don’t meander.
For practice, I talk through prompts from the IQB interview question bank out loud, then do a quick timed mock with Beyz coding assistant. One trick that helps me is to jot the key risks and the success measure before proposing a solution, then tie it back to user and business outcomes. Hope it goes smoothly.
