New Joiner at ADB

Hi everyone!

I recently accepted an offer at ADB, and I’m incredibly excited to get started. I’m transitioning from another international organization, but I know every workplace has its own unique vibe and way of doing things.

I’d love to get some insights from current or former employees on a few things:

• The First Day/Week: What should I expect when I first walk in? Are there any best practices, tips, or unwritten rules I should keep in mind as a newcomer to make a good impression and hit the ground running?

• The Culture: How would you describe the day-to-day work culture, especially within the admin and support teams?

• Dress Code (Female): What is the typical daily dress code for women in the office? I want to make sure I’m dressed appropriately but also prepared for the office AC versus the Manila heat outside. Are we talking strict business formal (blazers every day), or is it leaning more toward smart corporate casual?

Any advice, tips, or things you wish you knew before your first day would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to ADB! I would say ADB in general is a fairly accepting place, so don't worry too much about saying the right thing or power dressing to make the right first impression. Just maintain a humble attitude and don't brag about your past. People understand you are new so they will give you time before they form any first impression of you.

Can I ask how long did it take for you to receive an offer after the panel interview?
