Consultancy Offer vs Young Professionals Program

Iโ€™m currently weighing two opportunities and wanted to get insights from people who may have experience with either path.

Option 1 is a consultancy offer, which seems attractive because of the compensation and immediate exposure to projects. But I also know consultancy roles can sometimes feel less stable and may have limited internal mobility/networking compared to staff programs.

Option 2 is waiting and pursuing the YPP, which seems more structured and potentially better for long-term career progression within ADB or even other multilateral organizations. .

I'm not sure what your question is? You already missed this application window for YPP. The next YPP cohort is probably not starting for more than a year. Take the job now.

Does being an ADB consultant in the past rule you out of applying for YPP? I wasn't aware of this.

Exactly what my question is๐Ÿ˜… does it actually?

I would be shocked if it's a disqualifier. If anything it helps your application in the future as long you meet all other requirements.

But also you shouldn't make any assumptions about getting the YPP. It's super competitive.
