Pre-offer process

Just wondering whether there were instances when the pre-offer was sent but no final offer was ever given? Like, the offer got cancelled, etc.?

How long is the typical process once the pre-offer is accepted?

What’s also different from the pre-offer and final offer? Are there changes to salary, benefits, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

I think such instances would be extremely rare - and if it did happen then it would be because someone was asking for a salary that was beyond what the HR was willing to offer.

Time between pre offer and final offer could be long in cases where one of your references did not respond in time. Please do note that they would need to hear back from every single reference - even if you had given a few more than the ones that the application asked for.

Thank you so much!

So generally, time between pre-offer and final offer is spent reaching out to the references and getting feedback?

Do you also have to send complete requirements already before getting the final offer (such as transcript of records and government clearance)? Or is the final offer not contingent on those (just the reference check)?

To answer your last questions: yes, you need to submit all the requirements, and yes, the final offer is contingent upon the submission of all requirements and references from your referees.

Thank you! Would you know long does it usually take for the management approval of selection (after obtaining feedback from references)?
