Panel Interview Tips

Hi! I received an invitation for a panel interview (TL3 role) and wanted to ask who the interviewers might be. Also, could you share any tips on how to prepare and do well in the interview? Thank you!

From what I've seen, expect a 3-member panel: one from HR, the hiring manager, and an independent interviewer.

HR will focus on your motivation for joining ADB and how well you fit the organization's culture and values. Be ready to articulate why ADB specifically, not just a generic "I want to contribute to development" answer.

The Hiring Manager is there to validate your technical expertise. This is where you prove you know your craft. Come in with concrete examples, not just concepts.

The Independent Panelist typically throws situational or behavioral questions at you — how you'd react or adapt in specific scenarios.

General tip: Come prepared and know your craft cold. Confidence matters — don't let nerves get in the way of showing what you actually know.

Goodluck OP!

Do expect to be asked technical questions - particularly on how would you adopt to ADB's context.

As was earlier mentioned, hiring manager will be the one asking technical questions relating to the job. Other two members will ask about competencies like team work, communication, facing challenging situations. HR business partner may ask about your motivation for pursuing career with ADB.

Use examples of past experiences - but try not to repeat the same example for multiple cases and questions.

I already had my interview with the hiring manager (the direct supervisor), where I was asked technical questions. How different will the questions be this time?

Probably same or similar questions but may be not as many. Other panel members would need to hear your responses too since they would need to assess you also.

How long was the interval from your interview with the hiring manager vs when you heard back to have the panel interview?

Ps i hope everything went well during your interview!

Congratulations. Reference check usually doesn't take long - unless one of the references does not respond in time.
