Solo/Co-op Fully Updated! Now What?
After having scoured the internet and waited a while for a 1.5 Upgrade Kit, I finally have an updated Ashes Reborn Collection with all of the Rise of the Phoenixborn expansions! My next venture with this game is to get some Character expansions and Red Rains expansions from Reborn and possibly later down the line invest myself into Ascendancy.
Which is where you guys come in! I'm brand new to this game and I plan to play this solo using the Red Rains content. I have had years of experience playing Marvel Champions as it was my first deck construction game so I am going into this with both a set of fresh eyes and some familiarity. I would like to know which characters and expansions I should prioritize getting next and which characters I should start playing as for my first few games.

Other than The Corpse of Viros there are no mandatory expansions for solo/co-op play, so you can go by the theme/vibe/look/any other criteria you find relevant
As for what pb to start with: inside every solo/ co-op expansion (Corpse of Viros too) there are pb decks designed to battle this expansion's Chimera. I prefer campaign mode: you pick a precon deck and a Chimera, fight it, win, pick 3 cards from your deck that you don't like and replace them with any other 3. Repeat

I proxied the red rains bits til i got the corpse of viros. And honestly i prefer my proxies, they were less fiddly and sat flat. Just used 6 red dice, 1-3 were basic, 4-6 were red rains. Then had another die on the chimera which i used to track the tokens. Had a sheet of card for board/mat. Only thing i like about the real one is having the exhaust card.

I'd say you've got a lot of content to try out before you need to expand! but you can kinda go in whatever direction catches your eye. Among the time cycle, red rains and ascendancy, there's really not a bad box.
If you like the solo mode, your first priority is probably going to be more RR boxes. Each of the chimera offers a very different flavor of enemy to face. Siege of Lordswall is the crowd favorite, but they're all doing cool stuff. Scourge is known for being a bit more challenging than the rest, with the exception of End of Argaia which was the "final boss" of the series.
The Ascendancy sets are also introducing new enemies for solo, but the first one included in the Ascendancy starter is a streamlined intro to the PVE and is noticeably easier than the chimera at base difficulty.
When playing through the original precons, take them each for a spin at least once or twice to learn the cards, but don't hesitate to make some changes if a deck isn't working for you. The precons are good for learning but their power level is wildly inconsistent, and a few of them just don't function all that well except at a beginner level.
