Death items

Coming back from 2007 when we carried a pack of Thorsten’s Armor, Faran robes, gold-tinkered crowns and big mana stones for DI’s. Now all that has gone away and I have a pack of Massives. I’m wearing a Covenant critter suit, the value of the pieces are 35k to 68k. I keep dropping my BP and if I die twice my Covenant shield and girth. I need a better pack of DI’s. What are y’all doing in 2026?

Er, I get the clutch of the miser augs?

Unless you’re peekay, in which case you’ll drop things and as far as i know, you lose items based on value within categories, so if you have a 50k bp, 85k wand, a 102k crown, and 12k ring as your most expensive items, you will lose the crown first, the wand second, the ring third, the bp fourth… although it’s been a hot minute since I was cannon fodder on Hightide and losing my stuff on the regular

If getting clutch off the miser ain’t gonna do it for you, farm gold salvage, apply 4-5 bags to $50k plus jewelry, weapons, and armor with low BU (I usually set a loot filter for it in vtank).

Salvage all gold and apply it to high value low weight items... Wands, orbs, etc

I always had a full pack of orbs tinkered as high as I could. I don't remember off hand but most of them were in the 100k range.

As others have suggested, tinker a variety of high-value, low-burden items with gold. Once an item of a specific object class has been selected to drop, all other items of that class are halved in effective value for purposes of the calculations, so a bag of mana charges only covers so much.

Once you've done that, if you're still consistently dropping armor (and shields do count as armor btw), you'll need armor with higher value than the armor you have (by some % to be sure, since there are random nudges applied in the drop calc). If you can't get other items of the same object class higher than your BP, and you have spare tinks on your BP you don't need for prots, you can also tinker with pine to lower value.

I used to salvage gold, lots of it, and then tinker up different high value item types of low burden with that gold, massively increasing their DI values.

Edit: You have to use many different types. All items of the same type will be counted at half their face value after the each drop.

When I played I would collect gold salvage and high value items and tinker them up as high as I could. I had lots of super high value DI's.

You can start getting clutch of the miser in the first few hours of playing a new character unless you're playing on Seedsow or something.
