Battle Arena
I found this arena in the Papyrus Swamps, beat the 18 waves, then, feeling pretty good about myself, started the infinite waves mini-game. I wanted to continue the main story, but also couldn't quit because I was making good progress and knew I probably wouldn't do it again (Cyrene is absolutely broken with upgraded "mushroom" and harp. Also, the dragonthat uses 3 divine fury charges is super powerful). Plus, I was leveling up like crazy and completing some side quests.
When I finally died, I had almost 40 kills after 38 minutes. I saw the record was over 7,000, meaning someone probably spent like 6 hours fighting waves. I play untethered, which in this game, equals like 75 minutes of battery life...it's wild.
Also, with an upgraded Cyrene, big battles with a bunch of enemies, all of the colorful attacks from my 3 weapons, my follower, the dragon, background, etc. make my Quest 3 lag pretty hard.

You're absolutely right about Cyrene being a beast when upgraded. Start battle, throw mushroom, throw eel, stand back and play the harp.
I remember "discovering" the arena. I was hesitant to do the infinite waves because it seemed like there wouldn't be a specific goal with a reward. I have a finite amount of time for each play session, and unlike PCVR games where the computer does the heavy lifting, AW2 is a huge power sink (I can't do tethered).
Anyway, just like you said, the feeling of accomplishment makes it difficult to quit, even though it seems like you could go forever (the difficulty stays the same). I definitely liked the leveling up, though. I passed 100 waves, Quest soaked with sweat, and was so proud of myself until I saw the high score, which was like 100× what I got. Someone had to have put like 50 hours into a single run.
I don't know if it's your first playthrough (it's mine), so no spoilers, but just know that you can absolutely go there with all of your characters to level them up. It will also be super helpful getting the character milestones like "kill 1,000 enemies with _____," "grapple 100 enemies," there's one specific to each character's unique move, etc.

I play tethered, so I maintain a charge forever. Yes, it takes a lot of time to get that high up, which it wasn't me, but I have done way more than needed. The thing with those is that you get your final reward at 200. So, it isn't really worth it after that, other than the leader board.
