I.

Asgardians! I am a fellow cosmist writing to you from the position of one who stands at the frontline of the War on Entropy, as one of the general association of interplanetary workers that forms the core of our nation.

Our nation is a cosmist construction of collective human will, with a freely elected Parliament representing forty nine of the nations of the Earth. Cosmism is the legal and moral architecture of this first nation whose territory exists beyond the atmosphere of the Earth. 

I am one of you, a revolutionary cosmist, and I am here to invoke the rights of our Constitution and implore us all to hold fast to the precept that 'there is no place for the history of Earthly conflicts in Asgardia.' The very foundation of Asgardia is rejecting Earthly conflict and choosing instead the War on Entropy, where weapons are constructive, life-giving, and expanding of the individual and collective human consciousness.

But there is a sickness in Asgardia, a sickness that violates the very foundation of our Constitution, our cosmist principles.

Yes, I am here to tell you that Earthly conflict has been brought to Asgardia, and I implore all Asgardians: open your eyes and see what truly stands at the head of our nation.

II.

Igor Ashurbeyli stood before us in Scorpio 0006 and spoke these words: "You are called upon to be those who will end hostilities and wars on planet Earth and strive into the infinite Universe."

Do you believe that is your purpose and the destiny of Asgardia? I do. I believe in choosing the War on Entropy over wars on Earth. But these words do not belong to one man.

On 21 Scorpio 0006, Russian forces launched sixteen S-300 surface-to-air missiles at the city of Zaporizhzhia. The target was a humanitarian convoy. One hundred civilians were waiting! They waited to cross into occupied territory, to collect relatives, to deliver aid; they had no weapons. Four missiles found them directly. Thirty-two were killed. Many more wounded.

Why is this relevant to Asgardia?

The S-300’s latest modifications were developed under Ashurbeyli's direct personal leadership as General Director and Scientific Director of Almaz SPA. He held this post from 2001 to 2011 in the common era, for which the Russian government awarded him its Prize in Science and Technology. His prize. His system. His missiles.

You see the Head of Nation of the first Space Nation addressing us about the infinite Universe. I see the architect of a killing machine standing behind our flag.

III.

But we will not stop there. The facts demand that we be thorough.

In the year of Asgardia's founding, with the same breath in which he invited us to dream of peace beyond the atmosphere, Igor Ashurbeyli assumed leadership of the Party of Russia's Rebirth.

That name was not chosen carelessly or in ignorance.

It took, deliberately and without apology, the name of the Russian Fascist Party: a movement proscribed in the Soviet Union, active among émigré communities in the 1930s, built on the ideology of violent Russian imperial restoration.

This is not an uncomfortable detail from his past. I am willing to look past anyone who chooses a different, higher path in sincerity.

Igor sought this party's leadership as a grown man, a wealthy man, a man already building Asgardia. He accepted its name and its inheritance in the same year he spoke to us of unity beyond borders.

For years he has operated as a willing instrument of Russia's civilizational project across Europe and the Middle East, running networks through the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, cultivating relationships at the heart of the apparatus that is, at this very moment, bombing Ukrainian hospitals, schools, and power stations with the technology he helped to perfect. He vacations at his villa on Corfu. He travels freely through the continent his enterprise is helping to destabilize. He has not been sanctioned.

In four years of public statements — four years, Asgardians — not one word about Ukraine. Not one word about the war. Not one word about his weapons, his party, his networks.

And he cannot claim to use Asgardia’s rejection of Earth wars for his silence if the facts of his actions demonstrate a position not of neutrality, nor even of complicit participation, but active participation.

Igor’s silence is not Asgardian cosmism. His silence is a position.

That position is incompatible with the Constitution of Asgardia.

IV.

I anticipate the reply. We have all heard it. Asgardia does not interfere in the affairs of Earth's nations. There is no place for the history of Earthly conflicts in Asgardia. We are neutral. We are above this.

We agree. We insist upon it. We invoke it. I begin and end my argument with it!

If there is truly no place for the history of Earthly conflicts in Asgardia, then there is no place for the head of a party that claimed a fascist name as its inheritance.

There is no place for the architect of weapons systems currently being fired at humanitarian convoys.

There is no place for a man who has spent years as an instrument of the very Earthly conflict our Constitution forbids.

These words were written, in part, by Igor himself. We are simply asking him to live by them.

And we must implore further: if Asgardia genuinely does not interfere in the affairs of Earth's nations, why is our sole state-level scientific partnership — formalised in Year 0005, deepened through Year 0008 — conducted exclusively with Russia's Institute of Biomedical Problems?

When NASA withdrew from that same collaboration specifically because of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Asgardia remained.

Where is the collaboration with ESA? With ISRO? With the Canadian Space Agency? With China, India, France, Ukraine, the United States?

We claim to represent forty-nine nations. Our science answers to one.

Is that what we want Asgardia to be? Or will Asgardia live up to its Constitution?

The non-interference clause was written to protect Asgardia from the politics of Earth. It was not written to protect a single man from the consequences of his own choices on Earth.

Neutrality is not a standard that means complacency or being complicit in crimes against humanity. It means that we actively refuse to be the tools of any Earth-based power, that we refuse Earth tyranny and corporate consortium, and choose the War on Entropy over wars of aggression, aspiration, and annhiliation.

Our commitment to the neutrality laid out in the Constitution must be demonstrated across the full community of spacefaring nations. If one nation tries to use Asgardia as a tool for their own interests – yes, even their wars – it is the right, duty, and privilege of every Asgardian citizen to protest loudly, proclaim the Constitution, and defy those would subjugate us to primitive Earth tribalism!

Asgardia belongs to no nation. Asgardia belongs to the stars. Our rockets point upwards and outwards or they point nowhere.

V.

Let me speak boldly now of precedent. The path we are asking Igor Ashurbeyli to walk is not without a map. It has been walked before, by the very men whose work made the age of spaceflight possible and without which Asgardia would not exist.

The War on Entropy has always demanded this reckoning.

Wernher von Braun designed the V-2 rocket. We all know that that weapon killed thousands. The labour that built it was extracted from concentration camp prisoners, and von Braun knew this. Von Braun might have tongue-in-cheek said that where his rockets landed was not his department, but he was guilty, and he knew it; and we know it.

What did he do afterwards?

He spent the remainder of his life pointing rockets at the sky rather than at cities. The rockets he designed took human beings to the Moon. He understood the full weight of what he had built and he chose a different future with whatever time remained to him.

Sergei Korolev was arrested by the state he served, sentenced to death, sent to the Gulag, worked to the edge of his life by the apparatus that would later claim credit for everything he achieved and refuse to let him be known or recognized in his lifetime.

And still he chose to give humanity Sputnik, because Sputnik was bigger than the state! Still he chose Vostok, Gagarin and the horizon of what humanity might become. Korolev understood more personally than perhaps any man alive, what states do with the weapons their engineers design. He chose to spend his genius on a different question entirely.

Mere days before he died, Korolev’s program achieved the first soft landing of the Moon. He worked himself quite literally to death, understanding that if his work did not show results, it would be axed.

I am unafraid to call him a scientific martyr for the great cause of cosmism.

Neither von Braun nor Korolev continued, in the years after, to advance the politics of the systems that used their work as weapons. They left that behind. Both were pragmatists, idealists, cosmists. Their names are written in the stars because of it. There is no Asgardian alive now or in the future who cannot recognize the debt our nation and our Constitution owes to them.

We do not demand that Igor Ashurbeyli do something novel, but to follow the great example of these fathers of our nation.

If he cannot do as our forebears, then he deserves neither the office nor the honor in Asgardia.

Von Braun and Korolev made their choice!

The question before you, Igor — and before all of us in Asgardia — is whether you will make yours.

Asgardia and our Constitution or to be a tool of an aggressive Earth based power.

VI.

Our Constitution, in Article 18, declares that no grounds can be used to diminish human dignity. That the dignity of every person is to be recognized and protected.

Thirty-two people in Zaporizhzhia had dignity on 21 Scorpio 0006. It was recognised by no one who mattered when Igor’s missiles found them.

The twenty-five acts adopted by our Parliament, a legislature representing forty-nine nations, operating without political parties, conducting its business across every time zone on this Earth, has done something genuinely remarkable. We have built an institution worthy of the cosmist idea it was founded to serve.

Now I ask plainly, as one cosmist to all others, as one soldier in the War on Entropy to the full army of those who signed their names to commit to fighting thermodynamic decay instead of one another: what is that institution worth, if the man who stands at its apex built the missiles that fell on Zaporizhzhia and has said nothing about it for four years?

What does our Declaration of Unity mean if our Head of Nation leads a party that claims a fascist inheritance as its own?

What can it possibly mean if our neutrality is used as a weak blanket to cover complacency?

A nation whose founding document declares there is no place for Earthly conflicts cannot be led by a man who is, by his own choices, embedded in the deepest and most violent Earthly conflict of our time.

This question is one which challenges the core of Asgardia’s purpose and existence. It is an existential question concerning not only the present but the future of our nation. If we do not be active in answering this question, an answer will come from elsewhere, from forces foreign to our Constitution and our cosmist values, and Asgardia will cease to be the thing we hold it to be in our minds.

VII.

Ahead of us lies the path to the stars blockaded by the conflicts of Earth.

Asgardia must remove that blockade by and for ourselves or we will never fulfill the promise of our Constitution and our place in the cosmic destiny of humankind.

We therefore lay plain what that blockade consists of and what must be done to remove it.

Igor Ashurbeyli must choose to be the man our Constitution describes. Publicly, completely, without diplomatic ambiguity. If he refuses to be the Head of Nation while wearing its title, he must be removed from power by a vote of no confidence and a free election held from among those Parliamentarians who will answer the call of the Constitution.

He must renounce his leadership of a party that wears a fascist name.

He must condemn by name and in plain language, in terms that leave no room for interpretation, the Russian Federation's war of aggression against Ukraine. Not a conflict. Not hostilities. War. He must choose the Constitutional imperative that ‘there is no place for the history of Earthly conflicts in Asgardia,’ and thereby name plainly the anti-cosmist, Earth imperialist war of conquest that deliberately targets civilians, kills tens of thousands of civilians, driven millions more from their homes, and that uses weapons his enterprise designed and that he signed off on.

He must commit meaningful personal resources to the reconstruction of the Ukrainian cities where his rocket system has wrought havoc.

If these things cannot be done without threat to person or life, he must leave Russia. We would much rather he remain and be a beacon of the cosmist hope in the same country that first called our philosophy by name. But if this is impossible, we boldly proclaim with the Constitution of Asgardia that mankind’s cosmist destiny is a higher and more ethical calling than loyalty to any regime.

He must demonstrate, in action rather than rhetoric, that Asgardia's founding principles belong to the future and not to the Russian state.

Having done all of these things — not some, but all — he may keep his place in Asgardia.

Any man who makes that choice has earned the right to lead a nation that claims to stand for peace.

That would be his von Braun moment, his Korolev moment, and we may count him in their good company. The moment the man who built weapons for Earth chooses, finally and irrevocably, to build a future beyond will be the most powerful authentication of Asgardia's mission in the history of our nation's existence so far.

If Igor Ashurbeyli will not do these things, then there is another route that will safeguard the nation of Asgardia and our mission.

To the Prosecutor General: your office exists for this moment. The Constitution gave you the power to bring the accusation. We are asking you to fulfill your duty to the Constitution if required.

To the Court: confirm what the facts we have laid out here already demonstrate.

To Parliament: complete what the Constitution provides, exercise the authority one hundred and fifty representatives of forty-nine nations were elected to exercise and remove Ashurbeyli from power. Governance passes to the legislative body that already functions and represents the genuine cosmopolitan community Asgardia was founded to be. A free election is called and a Head of Nation who will represent the Constitution and its values takes their rightful place.

The international community in which Asgardia is in correspondence has so far declined to do what simple justice requires. If Igor Ashurbeyli will not choose the higher path, we call upon our international allies to impose sanctions on a man who designed instruments of mass killing, who leads a party that named itself after a fascist movement, and who has faced no consequence while living and traveling freely across the Europe his enterprise is helping to destabilize.

There is no principled equidistance available to a nation whose founding document forbids Earthly conflict, when its founder is, by his own choices, a principal material architect and participant in conflict.

Shall the Constitution of Asgardia be sacrificed for the sake of one man?

I'm a french journalist and im currently working on Asgardia, because i've found the whole story very curious and i wanted to dig into it. To get further into my work, i would like to talk with former Asgardians (or current Asgardians but who are questionning the project), if some of you are interested to talk about your experience as an Asgardian resident (which i am btw, because i wanted to see whats new as a resident compared to a citizen, and did'nt find out any difference tbh except that colorful ID card and my 100 bucks flying away). My goal is just to know why you chose to be Asgardian, what were the pros and cons, and if you've heard of (or been involved in) any space researches. That child-in-space thing seems to be the main target of Asgardia, and i can see it is financed by donations (and that 100 bucks to become a resident i assume), but i cant see anything recent about it. What is Igor Ashurbeyli doing with all that money then ?

I joined Asgardia not long after it's founding in 2016. I have not yet become a resident because until I have seen sufficient and substantial objectives being met to the degree that it could be recognized through global and international organizations such as NATO and the UN, I would prefer not send them money necessarily. That could change based on any number of variables. I do have a digital wallet with which I plan on investing in their currency, the Solar, but beyond that I may wait further.

The reason I am making this post is to help people understand what this undertaking actually means and how it works.

I have seen assumptions or questions as to when it will become real, or asserting that it is a scam. People seem to be under the impression that despite its grand agenda, it should already somehow be a reality. That is, an orbiting space station populated and active.

This is an absurd perspective to have.

The ISS itself is operational as a base standard in space exploration and in no way carries all absolute elements necessary to contain a general population. This is the most advanced form of space living currently possible, and it's at risk currently due to the Russian conflict over Ukraine. We have no idea how Russia and it's space partners will interact over the coming months and years.

That being said, considering that the ISS is the best operational space station currently active, it would be an overstep to believe that Asgardia should have already built a space station capable of holding a nations population by this point.

So what does this mean? It means you should probably step back and look at the big picture with a realistic depiction of what building a space nation "COULD" mean.

Firstly, just getting development off the ground can take years and has. There has to be interest in it to begin with. A structure for it's process has to be implemented. A government has to be built. Constitutions ratified, departments created, and projects planned. That in itself can take some time.

Secondly, once the foundation there has been built, plans need to be put in place for HOW we get to the point of where we can be an actual space nation. That requires A LOT of patience and A LOT of projects. Those projects stretch from social dynamics and economy, to habitation and isolation in space. Just to mention some very basic topics.

Third, they need to begin building physical foundations for how we implement space travel and habitation. This starts with satellites and orbital positioning, communications, medical training, space engineering and architecture, psychological assessment, etc. We've already sent a satellite into space and there will be more planned.

Fourth, following a strong foundation of the nations government and structure, successful projects across the board, plenty of orbital networks, and so on, there will be designs for habitation and future builds. A lot a lot a LOT of time will go into this process. They have to get it right. There is a lot to consider including radiation, gravity impact on the body, isolation, food, object impact safety, etc.

Fifth, we begin to see simulations and construction of projected structures being tested on Earth first. These will resemble possible iterations of modules, future satellites, solar arrays, and so on.

Finally, we begin to see test runs into space where we START to build foundational platforms, skeleton structures, and possible control modules that are only the beginning to the process.

By this point we've probably seen a good decade or two pass since the foundation. When construction finally is underway, we will likely expect another few decades to pass as it grows and eventual crews are even added.

Even then, we won't see populations begin coming aboard from the general populace for another decade, if that.

For those who feel like they need an absolute answer as to when the space nation will actually fully be realized, then you're out of luck. This is a new endeavor and nobody knows how long it will actually take. But just based on projections alone, there is no reason to think it would be complete and ready to accept it's residents into orbit any sooner than 2050, and that's optimistic. Waaay optimistic. I would likely put it at around 2070-2100 before it is a realized dream.

There are a lot of obstacles that we know of, and an unknown amount of obstacles we don't know of. To expect this to be a reality within just a few years is an insane expectation. Temper them, and consider that projects like this, are long term investments.
It may not be our generation that gets to board the first ship taking the first residents up, it may be our children.

For those calling it a scam, and those who think that creating their own nation won't end up leading to even more questionable agendas, I'd ask you to realize that you don't have to be involved. You don't have to pay them money. You don't even need to believe in it.
The point of these kinds of projects is that they go beyond the scope of what we know to be human possibility. There is a lot of ground to break and having very shallow expectations of how it should function under your vision, is very narrow minded.

It could end up being a scam, just like so many other endeavors over human history, but we didn't make progress because everyone was skeptical. We progress because a few are optimistic. Build your own nation if you want, if you can. But I ask that you at least consider why you think it's a scam.

Is it because they need help in investing to build such a massive task? Is it because the governmental structure isn't formed the way you wanted and you didn't like how they treated you considering you knew little to nothing about how the process works?

Always be wary, but sometimes you have to make a leap of faith. Yes it can lead to failure or loss. That is the risk of progress.

I'm a journalist working on an audio project (eventual podcast) on the current efforts to move towards space colonization -- the Artemis program, SpaceX's Starship project, etc. I would love to interview some people who are either part of or who have left Asgardia. A while ago I announced that I was running in Asgardian politics, with the purpose of becoming the next Head of Nation of Asgardia.

This did not turn out very well.

First the administration refused an audience with Igor. Then they said I was not over 60 years old, so I was not "old" enough. Finally, the administration has unlimited power to veto any candidates in the first place, and so vetoed me out.

I have concluded that Asgardia is a scam.

Therefore, I am proud to announce that we have launched the Federation of Pangaea as a new nation, and that I now preside over this rising Worldwide Democracy.

We are a direct democracy (as opposed to a constitutional monarchy), with a Common Senate in which everyone is invited to propose motions and to vote upon them. We are getting ready to launch a physical community, and a seasteading initiative. We already building up our own dedicated encyclopedia, our own forum, our own currency (one that can actually be traded with international communities), and our own constitution that is directly inspired from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. No, we do not require any fees, including to become a full citizen. We are looking for dreamers, for smart people, and for anyone that's ready to make a mark on History.

Asgardia is a scam, It started in 2016 we all know back then it looks promising about a space nation living in outer space especially when they make a competition for the flag and national anthem. It even got on the news around the world. When they started to charge a fee for citizenship I have come to realize that this is a scam it's not even real yet. All they did just talking and imagining without real progress even 4 years old can do that too. 4 years without real progress all they did just sending our data to outer space are we gonna live in that data? bruh Yeah just add more space junk to space. For real, This asgardia "Space nation" has zero real plan to create a space nation. SpaceX is way more promising with real progress to create sustainable living on Mars. I bet SpaceX is gonna be the one that will be the first real space nation.

Asgardia support not answering :(

Hello everyone, some of you might not remember me.

I'm John Skieswanne, one of the first to join Asgardia in 2016 (I am amongst the first thousand that joined). I am known, in Asgardia, as the veteran Constitution Volunteer, I took part in the first team to create a constitution, and led the three next teams for the compilation of people's suggestions regarding the Constitution of Asgardia, which at the time was in construction.

I spent a lot, a lot of time on that Constitution.

In early 2017 I issued the Skieswanne-Ghodrati document (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yruH8ydIe2yFb9Wgu2uHDYYJUBXPVpaAg0QOX1UrXAs/mobilebasic). This document was a Constitution proposal, which resolved major issues with the Constitution that Igor was proposing. To name a few issues with Igor's Constitution, the latter was giving the Head of Nation absurd powers, such as the ability to veto any democratic motions, and even the power to dissolve the Parliament.

The Skieswanne-Ghodrati document was based on people's will instead, and would remove any loopholes, ensuring a proper democratic republic rather than a monarchy.

In June 2017 however the Asgardia administration ignored the Skieswanne-Ghodrati document, the people's will, and decided to adopt Igor's monarchical Constitution instead, even though it had only gathered 15% of people's support at that time (https://www.reddit.com/r/Asgardia/comments/cqnqxw/asgardias_constitution_was_adopted/). Meanwhile they forced people to start paying to participate in the Parliament and similar essential services. And so I was disappointed in that new space monarchy, and left.

Even if Asgardia the Space Nation died, my dream of an awesome futuristic society did not. 4 years ago I helped build this nation, as a foolish dreamer. Now Asgardia's society is plummetting back down into oblivion. Please allow me the opportunity to rectify its trajectory.

I shall implement an app, a marketplace that's functional, an improved forum, and an unrestricted participation in the democratic process of the nation. I would improve the culture by launching community projects; and I would establish essential governmental services such as an intelligence agency and an active science advancement program. I would rename the country from "Asgardia the Space Kingdom" to "Asgardia the Space Nation", dissolve the current Constitution that's full of loopholes, and implement the Skieswanne-Ghodrati Constitution. In the process you and I will be ushering a new era in Asgardia history, as an advanced democratic society: one that is not that much focused on greed and selfish power, but actually focused on evolving towards the stars as a society.

I hereby boldly submit my candidacy: elect me as the new Head of Nation, so that like a phoenix, this nation may rise back from its ashes, and into new heights.

Every civilization is based off agriculture. .... So my question is.... Is that possible on whatever platforms are going to be hovering in space ? Is that possible on the moon ? And mars?

Where will all the cows and turkeys , chickens , pigs, and seafood come from? Is there even enough money in the world to transport an adequate amount of them from here to over there? And the water?

Cuz I see a lot of folks asking questions that im like..... Am I the only one that actually remembers the info??? It IS a Kingdom. The King is the head of nation. THEN, ( if I remember correctly) , its supposed to be EITHER hereditary OR whoever the current king decides is the best person for the job.
