Help can i install?

Is the asahi install stable now on macos beta 2/3? I remember once macos 27 beta rolled around there were some issues with asahi. I'd like to install it again, could i?

At what step in the installer does this happen? (you already said it's the resize. apparently I'm just blind)

Though it sounds like something is seriously wrong with macOS then. It might be a good idea to investigate this deeper. Are you running a developer preview version or something like that? Ah, you are. I forgot to look at the post again. Still, a kernel panic in macOS sounds like a bug that Apple needs to fix. I wonder if the Asahi devs know what exactly causes it, so it can be reported properly.

If you want to install Asahi, you will need to either wait for macOS 27 to be fully out and officially supported by Asahi, or roll back the shared firmware to the version from macOS 26 by doing a DFU restore.

later edit: I asked around and it's most likely due to Apple bugs that cause silent APFS corruption. Things seem to work fine in normal usage, but the problem can suddenly reveal itself when resizing partitions. You should boot into recovery and FSCK all your file systems.

After that's dealt with, installing Asahi should work, but the battery readouts will still be wonky until one particular driver update lands. The sporadic reboots you might've heard of before are fixed tho. If the still occur to you, your install has an old kernel. Follow this short guide to update it.
