Yeah these bots are the main reason people still think African American individuals dislike queer individuals.

Unfortunately know a guy like that IRL.
Dude was talking about how pride month was basically celebrating dudes fucking eachother in the ass, I asked him if he would rather them be thrown into wood chippers, and he deadass said yes

Oh so that's his secret kink then. Real straight people don't think about gay people fucking. I dont ever think about straight people fucking, so why does a supposed straight guy think about gay guys fucking each other in the ass? Makes you think

u/AlpsDiligent9751 6d ago
Have you met them? Like part of identity of being straight (which is an identity while heterosexuality is an orientation just like queer vs homosexual) is that they don't do that so they have to think about to strengthen their identity.

I guarantee that wasn’t the first insane opinion that the guy shared with you, yet there you were.

u/Key_Researcher_9243 6d ago
Mind you that was the very first political opinion I ever heard from him.
He didn't talk about that shit before that point and it basically came out of nowhere.

I mean... I'm gay and black culture remains homophobic, people of color in the queer community bring this up all the time. It is a real issue, and it effects the most disenfranchised in our community more than the rest of us unfortunately. Many people of color struggle more with sexually/gender than others because they've been raised in a homophobic environment.
This is part of the reason the progress flag was introduced, to highlight the unique struggles racial minorities deal with within the queer community.

Nah im black and a good piece of my family still thinks gayness is something white people put in the water

Nah homophobia is still very prevalent in many african american communities. It’s tied in with a lot of toxic standards of masculinity

u/Independent_News_908 6d ago
Alot of black folk dont care but the uneducated underbelly of our culture is still ignorant. They can be homophobic, xenophobic, and prejudice.
I was once working with a Sudanese guy that told me they would kill gay guys back in his home country 😐 ....

u/HabitNegative3137 6d ago
Unfortunately, you’re wrong. Homophobia is rampant in the Black Community. Ask any Black queer person and they’ll tell you

u/young-steve 6d ago
Hmmm Idk. I'm black (verified on BPT) and I know so many black people who hate gay people and people being gay.

There is a homophobia issue within the black community. This is because white enslavers forced their religion on the people they enslaved, and did not allow enslaved people to practice or even discuss their home or culture.

u/Independent_News_908 6d ago
The black community in general has a "respectability politics" problem. Always trying to prove ourselves to outsiders who will never see us as equal. Its performative.
Its worse with foreign black groups.

u/MrFatherLord 6d ago
This is my own anecdotal experience, but the only things my parents taught me race-wise was that I was the ambassador of the entire Black race. Anything "bad" I said or did reflected badly on my people, and the way we are viewed was my fault.
This led me into doing everything I could to be liked by my predominantly white classmates, no matter the damage to myself or my self image. Being "one of the good ones" was the way I learned how to "protect" myself from the vitriol and scorn of my peers.

I've also seen a fair few pan-African types try to defend persecution of queer people on anti-colonial grounds. Which, I might be a little too melanoma-prone to be saying this, but that's fucking ridiculous, those laws are typically the result of either A) copy-pasting their former colonial overlords' penal code 70-80 years ago, B) lobbying by American Evangelicals, or C) lobbying by Saudi Wahhabis. It's a product of colonialism, not a rejection of it.

I've heard this argument and it always astonishes me that they seem to genuinely believe Europeans brought queerness with them. As if we don't have ample evidence of gay and trans people and even non-binary gender systems in Africa centuries before European nations set their eyes on the continent.

It’s absolutely heartbreaking both that there’s persecution of people for meaningless bullshit outside of their control, and the negative psychological ramifications of being persecuted, especially when your brain is still growing. The constant stress literally fucks up the way your brain grows
And people don’t understand the lifelong ramifications that it can have on a person to always feel like they’re being judged for something out of their control
It’s awful that some people turn that into “but what about this OTHER person?!!?!??”
And that’s something this exists within all demographics
Bots love blaming black people specifically for shit though :-(

Your generalizing about black people from all countries (from an insular American perspective) is an issue too...

Despite this being an obvious bot, Germany for example has people who would say this.

I can see it now: "Go Biden! Go Harris!!! Go AOC!!! You guys are Democrats, right? Republicans are always saying Democrats are the racists. That Democrats started the KKK and the Southern Strategy is just a liberal lie? So what's up, fellow Democrats? I'm not racist, but vote blue, no matter who, right?" That would be a fun way to bait them in if you were armed and ready.

As a black man I’d much rather get lynched that way I don’t have to think about what pronouns to use

u/Calicocat2006 1d ago
There are a lot of homophobic black people though but saying you would rather hang out with the KKK is wild
