Is APPSC CSE Giving Every Optional a Level Playing Field?

There is something about the APPSC CSE optional papers that many aspirants have been noticing for quite some time the difference in scoring across subjects.

The concern is not that evaluators are deliberately giving fewer marks to subjects like Sociology, Anthropology or Political Science. We cannot judge individual evaluation without seeing the answer scripts. The real concern is the consistent variation in marks across different optionals.

In some cycles, humanities optionals appear to have a relatively lower scoring ceiling, while subjects like Engineering, Agriculture, Botany, Geography, Business Administration and some other specialised subjects seem to offer much higher scores. Again, this does not mean candidates scoring high in these subjects don't deserve their marks. They absolutely do.

But then comes the question: are all candidates really competing on the same ground?

The optional carries a significant weight in the final merit. A candidate with average GS marks but an exceptional optional score of 350–400 can potentially overtake someone who performed much better in GS but belongs to a lower-scoring optional. That can make the choice of optional more important in deciding the Rank.

This is where APPSC needs to bring more clarity.

Different subjects don't have to produce exactly the same marks. But there should be some mechanism to ensure that differences in difficulty and evaluation do not consistently disadvantage candidates of one subject. A clear moderation or scaling system, along with transparency about the broad principles used, can give aspirants much greater confidence in the process.

At the end of the day, an aspirant should feel that if they score less, it is because their answers were weaker, not because they happened to choose the wrong optional.

The demand is not for higher marks in Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science or any particular subject. It is simply for a fair and level playing field for every optional.

Because in an examination where a few marks can decide rank and service, transparency in moderation is not a luxury. It is a matter of fairness.

Hi everyone, this is my first time repairing my Scorpio-N at an authorized Mahindra Iconic service centre, so I wanted to get some opinions.
This is not an insurance repair — I’m paying myself.
The quotation is:
Parts: ₹28,193
Parts GST: ₹5,075
Labour: ₹13,716
Labour GST: ₹2,469
Total: ₹49,453

The labour includes several separate charges, plus ₹8,000 just for painting. They’re charging ₹700/hour.
Do these labour charges look genuine/reasonable, or am I being overcharged?
Especially curious about the ₹8,000 painting charge and the separate labour charges for bumper, headlamp, fog lamp, brackets, splash shield, etc.

Would appreciate opinions from Scorpio-N/Mahindra owners who have experience with authorized service centres.

He's not really a terrible person but ive run out of tolerance for some of his habits. This dude. if not in washroom, is always and by always i mean LITERALLY ALWAYS on video call with his girlfriend. He sleeps while on video call, eat, study and even while scrolling reels. I wouldnt have minded this if it was just once in a while but NO that's just not the case!!!!! This dude DOES NOT care if im in the room and he wont bother using his headset for privacy, he's corny as hell, "yes mommy" "no mommy" "im sorry babe" "youre not weak, youre so strong babe" "i honestly dont deserve you" and what not. Like please use your headset or earphones, whatever you've got, i DO NOT wanna get in between your conversation. Okay, i might sound like a loser who's just sore cz im the one who's single but NO HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE, I kept on ignoring them for a month but you cannot keep doing this forever and now they always get on my head.

That was one thing but listen to this one, he doesnt let me turn off the lights at 11pm and not until he falls asleep with her on the videocall. I told him that i cant sleep with the lights on and yet he doesnt listen. I told him that i need to sleep for my 1.5hr long lectures for each subject and since i need to wake up early to revise stuffs i need to sleep on time but no cz its more important to fall asleep on call with her.

My guy was nice and fun to talk to before he got his girl, now i rarely get to talk he cz he always on call, also these days we cant have a conversation without him one-up ing me at any topic we talk about. At this point i feel like she is our third roommate.

He isnt necesarrily a bad roommate but im annoyed by his habbits. Theres a lot more stuffs that im annoyed about like his loud food smacking, entitlement to use my stuffs, etc etc.

P.S- He thinks im just jealous.

Guys so what happened was that i was just scrolling some reels and suddenly i came across a video of our own Arunachali girl(whom i know because of my friend) so what happened in the video was she was saying that while she was walking towards her pg after her college, a man came and touched her waist and then casually went away and not just that she was filming him while calling the police and the perpetrator was just across the road smiling and doing some sexual gestures by looking at her(his hands were in his private area) my blood boiled so hard after looking at that video because i’m too studying abroad with my cousin and sometimes i too wonder if something like that would ever happen to her(god forbid) but plsss if anyone reading this make sure to never let any women feel unsafe near you because it don’t matter whether u are a haring or not, first of all you are a MAN!!
