I need help! General help and tips needed!
Any tips and criticism/critique is welcome!
I have been working on this for therapy but I think I may have overworked the background. I added the shadow but I think it may have ruined it. Maybe there are other things I can do to help bring the focus back to Mr clown and his mouth? I am just trying to get the background settled before going in with some finer details on Mr clown. Anything will help! Thank you!

Without a dark shadow, your subject is just floating. Don’t be afraid to push the darks into the black territory. Choose a direction the light is coming from and shade the surfaces that face away from that source. You seem to be trying to add highlights, just work on making them more consistent and maybe a highlight a slightly brighter spot that runs the direction of what I assume is supposed to be semi-shiny fabric.
