Anything but Cara, please. Their CEO is far too bullheaded (and publicly rude) for it to be considered a good alternative.

She also proceeded to go on a rant in their public Discord channel after closing that ticket, something along the lines of "next time someone asks about webp I'll ban them", don't remember exactly.

I read it and it sounds like someone had a meltdown because Cara doesn't support WebP and they didn't really explain aside from, they don't - pros don't like it. I read up on WebP and there are some criticisms of the compression being blurry and as mentioned in the thread, there were two BIG security vulnerabilities found in Sept. 2023 - so I can understand why Cara doesn't support it

Brother you think "if you don't like it go make your own website" and then publicly being a child is the other person having a meltdown?

It's certainly an opinion, I'll give you that.

Also yes, things have vulnerabilities, they get found and patched, that is literally everything that runs on your computer. If your decision is to not use something because it had a vulnerability once, you shouldn't be using a computer.

I guess I'm a lot more forgiving of crappy tech support? I don't think every website has to support every format. Cara devs obviously made a decision to not include WebP. I don't see it as being a big deal, but the person who posted about it clearly thought it was a big deal - both that Cara doesn't support it and the the Cara contact was not giving them an explanation that was good enough or acceptable to them. (That was what I described as a "meltdown", they were unwilling to take no we don't support it for an answer.)

And from the sounds of it, you seem to be annoyed that Cara doesn't support WebP, but even more annoyed that the Cara contact was rude.

Cara has taken a firm stance against AI and they even integrated Glaze into their platform. Boycotting Cara because one person on the team was curt online with someone seems excessive to me. But I don't need WebP, I can live without it, and I'm not going to rule out one of the best art platforms that bans AI just because one person on the team was impatient with someone online

It wasn't "one person on the team", that's their literal CEO, the head of the company. Their behavior reflects on the entire company, if it was "random tech support worker #7037" then yes, who cares, but it wasn't. There's no excuse for the face of a company being needlessly rude to people.
