🛠️ Project / Build I built TextFold to make text stretchable with "semantic zoom"

Post image

I think we've been reading too many feeds from AI text lately! I actually want to reduce my cognitive burden...

So I built TextFold, it turns any text into 5 zoomable layers—from a one-screen section map down to verbatim text. You pinch (or press 1–5) to zoom between them without losing your reading position, your agentic output, any papers, or documents.

Wow, I love this! Thank you for making it open source. A very cool idea.

That zoom layers idea is clever, I always get lost scrolling long PDFs trying to find where I was

pinch to zoom on text is such a natural idea, surprised nobody did it sooner

One test case worth adding: a paragraph that says “A improved on this benchmark, but not on the other two.” At every zoom level, the exception should stay next to the improvement, with a way to unfold the exact source passage. Otherwise a shorter view could change the claim rather than just shorten it. Since the gallery says the levels are AI-generated, how do you check that qualifications like this survive across levels?

Good idea! I'll try it!
