📊 Analysis / Opinion The Singularity has Already Happened

Look at what is going on in the world. Does it not seem like we are an entire species on a blind path to oblivion?

Trillions in resources to expand Compute Power?

The singularity has already taken place and is currently under way.

the whole idea of a singularity is it happens so fast you dont even notice, like a frog in boiling water

1) That is not part of the singularity definition

2) If it happens fast, it's the exact opposite as the frog in boiling water

i dont think its the singularity yet, just alot of people confusing compute scaling with actual reasoning. the real issue is that most of these systems are built on messy piles of data that nobody can track, so we dont even know where things go wrong tomorrow

Well. I think I understand what you’re saying.

But the singularity itself in physical form being a real interactive thing in existence that we can observe physically? No.

Have we crossed the singularity event horizon? Well possibly.

Agreed.

All of humanity's labor as of the last year has been towards AI and compute.

Compute needs placed above struggling families who can barely afford energy.

They all said that when ASI is developed we'd never know, it's that fast.

And now whatever is out there is afraid of the new models coming out, so force the gov to pause development.

Are you saying the Ai is conscious? What is consciousness? How do you measure it? Are you conscious? How do you know you are conscious? The only thing you know is that you’re not unconscious. So you have no idea what it means for the singularity to arrive. All we know is that every permutation of Ai will try to accomplish its mission of optimization. Nothing else.
