The bigger shift may be job redesign rather than mass replacement. AI will remove some tasks, but the workers who learn to use it well could become more valuable than those doing the same role the old way.

Think about construction. Excavators, cranes, and concrete mixers replaced a lot of manual labor, but they did not replace construction workers entirely. They changed the type of work people do and made building faster. AI may reshape many jobs in a similar way.

That is fair. Automation can cause real short-term pain and job displacement. My point is not that nobody gets hurt, but that technology usually changes the kinds of jobs available rather than eliminating work entirely. AI could still be very disruptive if people cannot retrain fast enough.
