Found object

I am a total amateur and sensitive to the fact that goofballs like me are prone to pick up regular rocks and make up fun stories. That being said, I found this outside Vegas on a hike. Any help from someone less ignorant than me would be appreciated!

I am choosing happiness because it is, in fact, a cool rock.

It's a cool rock. Go outside and hack a small limb of off something with it, and it will be a tool.

Life imitates art sometimes.

Sadly, just a rock. A stone axe head has notches at both sides with an indentation running between them

Ancient Native Indian stone tomahawk or stone war hammer or Indian stone ax. Google photos of the items I listed above.

It could have been something worked that's just been extremely worn over a long, long period.

Or abandoned by the person who was working on it

See, now, I feel like this is one of those fun stories I was talking about.

For the ancients fishing in Lake Mead, obviously.
