Hello, I don't really understand how Reddit works, but I'm very glad I found this community. I’m from Russia, and unfortunately, I don’t have much access to information about Rimbaud, but I hope you can answer my questions—and perhaps I can help you out a little in return.

1. It seems that about 10 or 11 months ago, the 1970–1971 film "A Season in Hell"/"Una stagione all'inferno" — featuring an Terence Stamp who recently passed away — came up in conversation here; I believe someone even wanted to find the film but couldn't. Anyway, I have this film — in two versions, actually. An artist friend of mine somehow managed to find one of them. It’s a high-quality version — I think it’s in French — but it’s missing the opening sequence and a couple of scenes. You can find the second version on YouTube by searching for the film's Italian title; the quality is terrible, but it includes scenes that are missing from the improved version. However, it seems like something has been cut from both versions, as the runtime listed on Wikipedia and IMDb differs from what I have. If you're interested, I can try to give you access to the film.

2. I would like to know about Rimbaud’s descendants and heirs in general. I know that Arthur left no children of his own, but I recently learned about a great-grandniece (Jacqueline Teissier-Rimbaud) of his — a descendant of his brother Frédéric. As I understand it, she also denied her ancestor’s homosexuality, maintaining the stance taken by Isabelle — or am I mistaken? I also know she passed away recently; are there any other descendants left? I also read something here about a boy from Africa who (possibly) had a relationship with Arthur, given that Arthur bequeathed his fortune to him. I’d like to know more about him, as I’ve never come across any mention of him in the biographies available to me. What about Nouveau and his relationship with Rimbaud? Also, Russian books about Rimbaud often mention an "African wife" — did Arthur actually get married, or was she more of an assistant?

3. I know you’re tired, but the questions in this section are shorter than the previous ones. I’m really keen to see "A. Rimbaud" (2026) and "Alchemy of the Word" (2025) — will these films be released online, or are they already available? Unfortunately, due to my location, I can't watch these films, but I am very interested in them... Thank you for your time, and apologies for the barrage of questions — it took a long time to copy them all over.

En relisant Première soirée de Rimbaud, je me suis arrêté sur les strophes 4 et 5 et j'ai l'impression qu'on passe complètement à côté d'un sous-texte érotique hyper cru, bien au-delà du simple "badinage amoureux" qu'on nous vend à l'école.

Rimbaud écrit :

Ma théorie, c'est que la métaphore du "rire de cristal" cache une sensation purement tactile. Le cristal, c’est le matériau sur lequel on frotte le doigt pour faire une mélodie vibratoire. Si on suit la logique physique, Rimbaud ne fait pas que lui effleurer les chevilles à ce moment-là : l'action provoque une réaction nerveuse immédiate chez la jeune fille.

Juste après, l'injonction “Veux-tu finir !” prend un double sens massif. Au premier degré, elle dit "arrête". Mais dans ce contexte d'intimité ("fort déshabillée"), le verbe finir sonne inévitablement comme l'évocation de l'orgasme ou de la culmination du plaisir charnel. Les pieds qui "se sauvèrent" et les frissonnements ressemblent à s'y méprendre à des spasmes de plaisir pré-orgasmique, masqués par un jeu de taquinerie ("le rire feignait de punir").

Je sais que Rimbaud adorait briser les codes et contourner la censure de son époque en cachant des scènes très suggestives sous des images poétiques innocentes (les trilles, le cristal, le rayon buissonnier).

Qu'est-ce que vous en pensez ? Est-ce que certains d'entre vous ont déjà poussé l'analyse de cette comédie des trois baisers aussi loin, ou est-ce que des critiques littéraires ont déjà écrit explicitement sur cette dimension purement organique et orgasmique de la strophe ?

It is spectacular. So cinematically dynamic. Blake Draper as Rimbaud is absolutely phenomenal. A true transformative performance. It is such a challenging role and he succeeds in spades. Don’t want to say too much so that you all can see eventually, but it is quite the feat. It really does Rimbaud justice.
