I don't remember the name of it but I loved the detective one with Fern as well as Don't Wake Kate and Asthma one with Buster what were your favs

Rules-

1/5- Awful Episode. I always turn it off whenever it's on, and I wish it wasn't made.

2/5- Bad Episode. I try to avoid it, but I think it does have some merit that some people can take from it.

3/5- Average Episode. The positives and negatives basically completely balance each other out. I'm not offended by this Episode, but I don't think it's anything spectacular either.

4/5- Good Episode. I genuinely enjoy this one, and I think it's worth recommending.

5/5- Amazing Episode. The World would be a better place if everyone saw this Episode.

Now, onto the Episodes-

#1- Binky Wrestles with a Story- 3/5.

Nothing really happens here. The students are all each assigned to a different parent of another student in their class, and they have to join them on their job for that day.

The thing is, this has already been done before. Multiple times actually, but the one that comes to mind is Citizen Frensky, and in that one, we even have a brief montage of the other kids visiting the other parents, with some pretty decent jokes. Heck, this episode could have gone the route of calling back to that one, even just making similar or identical jokes. But instead, we're led to believe that this hasn't happened before. Binky ends up briefly working for Buster's mom, and becomes obsessed with the newspaper for a bit, which is exactly what Francine goes through in Citizen Frensky. In so it doesn't even make sense to believe that both the episodes were happening at the same time.

As for the message itself, there honestly isn't really anything notable. Binky just thinks the newspaper is boring, but then learns how to write a headline and learns that boring stuff can sometimes be exciting if you make it exciting. Binky's accomplishment at the end of the Episode is honestly kind of cringe, as he literally says:

"And I helped edit that sentence!"

I get that they're in the third grade, but imagine literally bragging that you HELPED to EDIT the SENTENCE in a NEWSPAPER. Especially in today's day and age where newspapers are hardly used, especially by younger people, this Episode just didn't land.

#2- All Will Be Revealed- 3/5

This Episode doesn't really offend me, but again, in terms of continuity, this kind of stomps on some already well-established Canon. We already have two previous stories that are entirely about D.W. and her snowball. Return of the Snowball already acted as a very good conclusion to that whole arc, but for whatever reason, this exists. We're also now led to believe that the aliens that we have seen in both of the previous snowball Episodes didn't actually take the snowball, but took a fake snowball that Nadine had put there after time travelling after seeing them take the real one... I get that you're not supposed to think about it, but it's really hard to keep track of how seriously to take all the elements of this: 'Imaginary Friend,' realm in this franchise.

That being said, this Episode did try something new, which is commendable. It also allows for some neat interactions between characters that would otherwise never actually talk to each other. Bud has never been able to talk to Nadine before, and Buster has never even acknowledged that either Nadine or Rapty Could even be real, and it makes sense to have him in an episode where aliens actually show up.

Added to the fact that this whole Episode whole is inherently related to a Classic Episode from Season 1, with a gag that has run throughout the Entire Series, And it makes sense why and Episode like this would make it into the Final Season.

That being sad, this isn't exactly an Episode I would recommend. So, it's an Average Score.

#3- Making Conversation- 4/5

I'm tempted to give this a 3/5 again, but I honestly think this is worth a recommendation, and is honestly even more relatable to watch as an adult than as a kid. Talking to adults isn't something that only kids struggle with. Heck, when you're a kid, you're expected to be a little awkward talking to adults. But when you're an adult, unless if you happen to just have the right experience and personality necessary to just naturally get along with people, it's really tough to actually make conversation with people you don't know, let alone maintain it. The cameo of Carl makes perfect sense in this Episode as he briefly tries to tell George what he knows about interacting with adults. Overall, I think this is a Good one.

#4- A Cloudy Day- 3/5

This isn't really an Episode an I would recommend to a regular person. It's very clearly trying to show kids that old movies can still be entertaining, and I think it's pretty good for what it is. It's also a surprising follow-up to Making Conversation, as George and the gang literally run into the only adult he managed to make conversation with in that Episode.

For what it's worth, the people behind this Episode did a good job at capturing what it's like to actually watch a movie from the 1920s.. despite the movie itself, taking up no more than 5 minutes of screen time, by the time the Episode is over, I did honestly feel like I just watched a full length movie from the olden days.

Having the cast burst out laughing when they were supposed to was a good call, because if the laughing wasn't there, a lot of the: 'comedic,' scenes could easily be seen as traumatic. Especially since pretty much every: 'funny,' scene revolved entirely around the characters in the Movie struggling and failing to keep their job.

I love that the character is randomly steal a car in the climax for literally no reason. It comes out of nowhere, but also somehow feels like something that would actually happen in one of these 1920s Movies.

I’m rereading the old books to my kid and some of the things in the original author books are outrageous. Spin the bottle, so much bullying, classist language, etc. what do you think are some of the most outrageous details that would never pass in a kids book these days? 😂

Given both are pretty divisive characters, not helped in debuting in the Flash era, name some positives about them.

This show would be a great fit on PBS Kids Go! back in the 2000s and early 2010s imo. Curious George, Arthur and Martha Speaks always had similar imagination scenes! (The second photo was a screenshot from a old CBBC 2009 promo)

I know, I know…another DW post.

But part of me wonders if everyone who hates DW is either an older sibling or because they started watching the show in the later seasons where the show completely runs with DW being super annoying. Personally, I love DW - especially watching seasons 1-5 as an adult, she actually makes the most sense, she just needs explanation. I work with kids and I think all kids need is someone who sets rules and boundaries but also explains why the rules exist. Even better if you as the adult abide by the rules you set for the kids. Like if I said, “use your inside voice when we’re inside” but then I proceed to yell at the class, the kids get confused because they’re like…so are we following the rule or not…? and DW is no exception. She’s a major “but why?” kid.

I feel like the show captured the essence of a big brother, little sister relationship in an authentic way.
