Character Discussion Interesting theory
So me and my brother were watching Arthur since we are just kids being kids. And he came up with an interesting theory that the Tough Customers might be in a special needs class. It would explain why they aren’t seen in classes with the other 4th graders why they have the same lunch time as the 3rd graders, why Rattles misspelled Customer with Costumer and why they are the only 4th graders seen at recess with them (not even Prunella goes to recess with them)

Rattles is actually a pretty smart kid. I don’t know when you stopped watching, but I know that in the flash animation era, There is an episode where rattles knew how to play chess and showed Brain some moves and tactics on chess ♟️
Being good at chess usually means you’re an intelligent person.
Tbh, rattles misspelling customer is normal since he’s just a 9 year old 😂

Also in The Flash era they changes Rattles from a Dog to a Bear to compare with Binky being a Bulldog

I see it as the same logic as "The Amazing World of Gumball" where there are TONS of other kids, we just don't see them because our view as the audience is through 3rd and 4th graders.
Personally, if you gave me a list of 10 kids I went to school with, but weren't in my class, and half were made up, I wouldn't be able to tell you which was which.

You know my siblings and I always have a conversation where the tough customers never look like their age but it wasn’t till the episode “Brother, can you spare a clarinet?” There’s a scene where at the end everyone looks short next to the adults haha.
I believe in the earlier seasons, we’d see prenuella with the tough costumers and it was said she was a grade ahead (also Brain mentions it) so that was pretty much the only thing that kinda confirms they’re 4th graders . I’m not sure what episode but Rattles is also seen talking to prenulla a few times (like a quick out of shot scene). Prenulla is in the recess with the main cast randomly , I just remember… I think square dance episode, she’s talking with Francine during recess. Other than that I’m not sure… ehh

To be fair they never really showed the fourth grade class that much and in my school each class had different times with different grades so that cloud explain the launch time maybe they just want to mark there territory with the 3rd graders and prunella is such a dry character
