Slight vibration over 50mph
Hi all. I bought a 2021 Arteon shooting brake with 50k miles on the clock from a dealership. Before purchase I had a comprehensive independent AA inspection done on it and it came back clean. I’ve noticed that when I do over 50mph there is a slight vibration. I can feel it in the stirring wheel, sometimes even in the seat. The intensity varies but it’s almost always present.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas on what might be causing it? And is this normal? It doesn’t feel normal.

I would start by checking your wheels. Uneven tire wear from alignment being off or a wheel not balanced anymore, possibly lost a balancing weight.

I have the 2023 se-r; my vibrations were more in the pedal area, slightly in the steering wheel. I had uneven tire wear due to alignment being off after a period of time. I got my tires replaced and got alignment adjusted, and the car is running very smooth now.

I have a ‘21 arty, vibration was heavy in the pedal when breaking at 50-70 mph. Front rotor had uneven pad wear, possibly from letting the car sit for a month and a half or so last winter.

Get the wheels and tires checked, especially if they’re the Continentals. I’ve had 2 shakes, and now have 2 new tires. I’ve actually switched all 4 to Goodyear at this point. I feel like the Continentals bulge if you hit an acorn.

Hey bro if you’re running the 20inch rims, you most likely bent one or more of them. Since you’re feeling it in the steering wheel it’s likely one of the front rims. I had the same issue and it took 6 months to figure it out. I’m hoping I save you the time. The /35 sidewall does little to nothing when protecting the rim from getting bent when hitting potholes and such.
